I don't think it is possible to take away his princely status, nor his position in the line of succession. However it would be a simple matter to strip them of their titles and disassociate with them. It will probably be the first thing King William does.

I think the issue here is that if you can take away H’s “god given right” as a royal by essentially a vote of displeasure, then you can pretty much end the whole lot of them and be done with the monarchy, should the winds blow that way. It’s a Pandora’s box, best left alone.

We have the Human Rights Act in the U.K. They've obviously presented birth certificates to the palace, and that's all they can ask for. Placing birth witness signatures outside the palace is not a legal requirement - it's protocol. And Markle obviously refused to allow it. I agree, the palace needs to do something, but the surrogacy thing is waste of time and energy.

He could be replaced by a non-royal personage, to avoid further controversy, someone connected to the military. A real war hero. What about a vet who was actually wounded, rather than a condescending prince who was never put in too much danger? Harry is getting really tired in this role. The King is clearly very reluctant to remove the titles, but if he could remove the Sussexes from the line of succession, that could help, too. They'd make a lot of noise about it for a year, but would have to ease up at some point - and most people in the UK would be satisfied with the decision. At least the Royal Family have the country firmly on their side. The palace and Government need to find ways to make it much more difficult for them - or anyone in future - to play Royal. The Sussexes are highlighting the weaknesses in the monarchical system, revealing that anyone with a title can get away with posing on the world stage as representatives of the state, while imposing their own worldview, without any reference to UK policy goals. This is very antisocial behaviour that is so aggressive, so dishonest, as to easily justify the removal of their titles.
