- Warning: one mistake in video, box contains only Mini DP to DP, not hdmi, showed in video.
Isn't 1500 euros too much for a small monitor ?
It is certainly no advantage to have this monitor but rather just a pleasure.
For years I was waiting for an oled monitor, I didn't know what to expect since there aren't many videos.
I am a programmer and the monitor is, in my opinion, the most important device for my work. - Наука та технологія
"Useless manual", "Waste of paper" literally 1 minute later "I have no idea what this is".
Been waiting for someone to upload this
Finally someone has a video of unboxing ut
Great video brother! You earned this sub
thank you brother. found this video very important
Item shown at 1:32 is likely the Vesa Mount Adapter for the panel
hahah my guy didnt know what VESA mount is
It is the vesa mount. Very similar to the one I use on my G9.
Awesome!
Thanks for the vid. I've been waiting to see any reviews/unboxing on this thing for a while. Does it come with the cables (mini DP/HDMI)? - Disappointing about the speakers.
I hope the price comes down for Australia. I't looking like its going to be approx $2600 AUD when it becomes available. For reference, the Alienware QD-OLED AW3423DW RRP is $2000 and currently selling for $1700.
I had just received mine and was so excited to connect it with my new MacBook pro with M2 pro. I was disappointed when the only cable a $1500 monitor came with was a mini DP-DP cable. I will return mine, the DPI is too low, and the text clarity is not great if you are used to retina displays or UHD monitors.
Hi! Nice video. Is text in Visual studio sharp enough?
Knedla would love to see more gaming and picture quality of this monitor. Preferably hdr games if possible, thanks!
Nice video on this monitor. Where did you purchase it from? I'm having a hard time finding it here in the U.S.
Thanks for the video. I just bought this monitor too. It really beautiful due to QD_OLED tech. The reason I choose this instead of Alienware because it supports usb-c with 65w charge.
thanks for the video 🙏🙏
I have placed my order today and the monitor should arrive tomorrow so I'm pretty excited. I'm sysadmin/programmer myself and having OLEDs everywhere PC monitor was last LCD screen in my home :) Plastic backplate is a bit disappointing as I thought it would be made of aluminium (possibly used for cooling of the screen) but it's not that big of a deal. Enjoy your new monitor. Pozdravujem zo Slovenska
Hey mate, hows the text fringing /quality on the G85SB ? I heard many horror stories and since you are a programmer too, I assume you are the best man to ask.
Great video ❤❤❤❤
am programmer too, and am excited to buy new one !!!
Me gustó tu video.
Lindo monitor.
FINALLY
THANK YOU
Right😂
Been waiting 2 weeks for it to be available in us or someone post a video of them actually getting it personally
They have been receiving in UK for over a week now and this is the first video of it
Hello, I am thinking of buying one and will use it in 3D programs such as blender. Have you experienced burn-in?
Ahoj, prosim te, po oddelani ochrany displeje tam dole zustava jakoby jeste ochrana folie. To se sundava nebo se ma nechat? Nemaji tam udelane nic na oddelani, ale vypada to docela divne.
Nice video. Can you tell us what cables are included in the package ? In the video I saw a mini HDMI to HDMI cable, right ? Other cables included like display port cable.
There is just a mini dp cable included. I wish to know which cable he used.. i bought now 4 different micro HDMI cables and they doesn’t work well
Thank you for tthis video. It looks like this OLED monitor has a red tint, when i compare the games you showed.
thanks for video
is this cable minidisplay to display 1.4 cable or display 1.2?
So I got this monitor yesterday, for some reason it takes ages to power on? Pressed the on off button but the screen doesn’t power up although the red led light is on permanently. Are you experiencing anything similar
So cool to see you got your hand on one already. Any idea what the peak brightness of the monitor is?
Nice! Programmer as well but I worry about the different subpixel layout. I read a lot on this issue for reading text. Interest to know if it bothers you or not in the long run. Thanks
So I recently bought the newer cheaper version of the Alienware QD-OLED which has the same panel as this and to tell you the truth I don't notice it at all from like normal sitting distance which for me is about arms length. honestly I had to basically put my nose on the panel to notice any fringing or anything on text I'm typing for this comment lol
the alienware is lottery, as it doesnt come with that plastic protector, but with that awful bubble wrap thing that damages the screen so bad..
@@heeku_ mine came in immaculate condition
@@amb1valentchaos625
lucky u man, tons of people are getting theirs scratched with residue from the foam, i dont understand why they dont ship it with that plastic thing like samsung does, shame.
@@heeku_ really….
Getting mine tomorrow..
wow that difference is huge
that black bit you had no idea what was, is a adapter for other monitor stands (ones that lift the monitor up)
I want to know if it scales video properly in the built in streaming apps. That's the one thing that is so difficult to do on an ultrawide. Only Netflix and UA-cam do HDR and scaling properly in windows and dedicated streaming devices don't run at ultrawide resolutions. If it supported HRTF for atmos/dtsx it would be great cheap home theater setup.
oh yes i might use it for programming and fields like RE or re = reverse enginnering
awsome!!!!!!!!!!!🎉
Il n'y a pas de prise Ethernet ? et vous l'avez branché sur votre ordinateur en HDMI ou Mini dysplayport ?
Dying for this. Not sure when the US will get it but it keeps getting later and later in 2022 and no word yet, seems like the rest of the wold has it
Mine coming on the 12th Nov, hope it will be a good quality one ~
damn 1 year delivery time that's hard
@@harvelein 😓12/12
how is text display, is it clear? many people said that text is not clear in windows on AW3821DW that has the same panel like samsung, thanks
5k views and only 10 subs, never seen such a huge difference
Audio 10/10
wow great
Hello, I'm planning to purchase this monitor but I'm wonder can i connect my external speaker through the type-c port so that the TV system and my ps5's audio could output from the external speaker. This monior just nearly perfect for me but lack of 3.5mm jack is the biggest problem. Thank you.
god bless ur son ❤
from 34 inch most beautful monitor,,
dear is it any good for txt, for example working in word and or excel?
Where did you bought it?
Will this monitor be good for reading text? Alienware has issues with their 34 ultra wide.
Same panel so no.
Spends 1000+ Euros on a top end monitor, wants to use incorporated speakers ... I don't understand. Only reason for that would be keep your desk/setup clean... but even so.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
How the text looks?
Monitor looks good, I ended up getting the alienware DWF instead of this. I read the OLED G8 wasn't able to do VESA mount. but overall it the monitor looks awesome.
There is a VESA-adapter in the box. This black metal thing, nobody knows what it's there for..
really unusual use case, this monitor is for me, only good for gaming or maybe movie watching text on qd-oleds fringe and is pretty noticeable plus it will be more susceptible to burn in doing programming or any static text or window elements. I have kept my lcd for these reasons text looks way better on lcd
But with qd tecnology thats improve, doesnt?
You do not have this problem with QD-OLED though
I have the Samsung g8 4K 240hz. It’s hard for me to decide weather to sacrifice some refresh rates and 4K to get this OLED.
But this monitor is beautiful.
Wait
LG OLED 27" 1440P 240HZ
I’m kinda in the same situation as you are. I’m currently using the Samsung G7 32 inch but not wanting to go back down to 175hz. Damn I wish it was 240hz
watching this on my lg oled gaming monitor:)
So is it just 250 cd/m2? Or can config a higher pick? And how much is that? I'm trying to confirm this but I can't
peak brightness is over 900 nits in HDR
Why don't get a 5k2k for programming?
Knedla, do you program in delphi?
Sorry: Warning: box contains only Mini DP to DP, not hdmi, showed in video
so i need to buy mini hdmi to hdmi to get 12 bit at 175hz?
@@def6420 Somewhere on Reddit Ive read that there is virtually no 12bit content, so I would say you do not "need" to buy the HDMI cable. I suggest you read more about this if its something that bothers you.
Website indicated mini HDMI included cable
Is there an hdmi 2.1?
@@rlsml802 yes
Is this monitor 4k?
How visible is that bright border around the screen at night or in a dimly lit room?
Is the glossy strip along the bottom supposed to stay there or be peeled off ?
Yes, that is my question too. I saw some comment somewhere, that it should, but I tried on my panel and I damaged this stupid foil, probably has to stay, but whyyyyy...is is agly.
@@shawtdusanshawt I picked at it for a while but then thought maybe it’s not supposed to come off….it shouldn’t be that difficult to remove…
Does it have inbuild active fan like the same panel Alienware QD-OLED AW3423DW model has?
No fans at all
Does it support gsync compatible ?
i mean maybe the speakers are not impressive but from what i hear from this speakers are quite nice compared to other monitors i think
It’s a vesa mount adapter
The black thing is for vesa mounting the monitor
Has a big amount of red tint doesn't it?
Сравните в темноте, хотелось бы видеть разницу чёрного. Понятно что oled выйграет, но интересно
1:20 vesa montage plate?
Wow that's a lot of wobble on your original monitor at the very start of the video when you're cutting open the G8 box.
Reduce color red in this samsung monitor I guess.
SmartTV app's are seen in full screen or 16:9?
Nah your gonna have black bars either side, I done like the TV side of this monitor, the UI is sluggish btw, but it’s great for gaming.
@@user-ge5zh4cc6o maybe samsung fix this in a update
bro u say small monitor i use a 19 inch acer monitor from 2011 but than is 34 inch hugge bro
Does it come completely without fans? (Because Alienware unfortunately make this mistake.)
There are no fans, it's fanless ;)
yep no fans, and that's the only reason I'm getting this thing for 1,5k xD
I'm a fan already!
is this a glossy or matte display?
ok saw it now😅
Hi
Is it GSync compatible and will my 4090 work on it?
Yes
Gsync with Game Mode
even better turn off gsync and run max refresh rate, lower input lag.
Qd Oled for programming or any productive tasks... Really (burn-in risk)?!!! A bit enthusiastic approach, isn't it ?...
Video is wel done, but the music is really bad. Next time try something more relaxing anway good video.
Maroc 🇲🇦 nice
crazy how now I only payed 762 euro for it xD
I wish Samsung will give us a flat screen version of this monitor
OLED are NOTORIOUS for having blurry text, if you want nice text for programming, you get an IPS panel!
The OLED G8 is ONLY for gaming!
*QD-OLED has "blurry" text. Standard-OLEDs with a normal subpixel layout are fine, but are more likely to burn in with desktop use.
@@harvelein true, this is QD-OLED though. But I think you knew that, just want to inform others who might read this
two owner of the G8 just repported here text is great. WOLED is worse than Samsung sub pixel layout.
Does g sync work on it?
Yes
Trading my neo g8 for this g8. Thoughts?
Yes, you seem to have much money.
Can you live without 4k? Then yes do it. I can't.
@@_ATHENODOROS_ if I get true color than yes
Negatives: Huge power brick and that distracting silver trim around the bezel.
I’ve had this for a few days now, it’s great for a gaming monitor, if you try and use it for anything else then it will annoy you.
Why? It doesn’t annoy me
Brightness at max, yet too low.. laggy OS.. text looks weird.. can't enter BIOS using dp port
are you afraid of burn in?
qd oled has little risk of that - and warranty covers that they said at lest
I mean who even cares about a speaker on a monitor, that’s what we’ve got external speakers and headsets for
Does anyone know what's the PPI on this monitor?
109ppi
As soon as I see ‘texts are much better seen than on LCD panels’ I know it is a heavily biased video
you will most likely cause burn-in if you code on this monitor,
I cannot believe they pushed this design into the final product. WHO tf thought that having thin white lines across all monitor frame would actually be a good idea?
Seriusly - make it completly white then to discract and make the buyer even more mad?
Get an aw3423dw or black version dwf - it is cheaper with 1070$ and 3 years burn in protection.
This smasung looks so bad and costs 1500$+
What were they thinking??!
you can paint it
but it does 10bit 175hz out of the box with 12 bit also possible
I happen to love the silver bezels around the outside, it matches my S95B perfectly. They both look wonderful sitting next to each other connected to my PC. I'm running HDMI 2.1, 12bit colour 175hz, Got this on day of release last Friday, the thing is a beast!
@@1chrissage2 Did you need to buy any additional cable that is not in the package for 12bit at 175hz?
@@def6420 yeah buy a new monitor to paint it
2022 monitors market we deserve
text is worse on oled , need IPS for text
One more thing:
2:06 - so you get this huge a@$ box as a power adapter as a bonus for your table decoration???!! Why not to build an internal power supply in the monitor directly?
What is going on with this smasung product?
This is 6lbs lighter than the Alienware equivalent and has no fan as a result of the power being external and the micro ports.
Monitor supply unit outside the frame is a good thing. If it breakes you can just get a new one instead of repairing the monitor. and its much more heat efficient wont damage the monitor. another thing is that the monitor is so slim that it would make it bulky
outside power is always better
@@skullb0x the reason for it not to have a fan has nothing to do with the power supply being external. By that logic all monitors with internal PSU's would have fans ?. The reason it dosnt have a fan has something to do with how well they made the passive cooling and how much they allow the peak brightness to be. Neither does the microports have anything to with it.
I'm seriously pissed right now. Are you sure the back side is plastic? Samsung clearly advertised this having a METAL FRAME not damn plastic on the backside. The monitor market has so many unwritten "rules" it's just sad at this point.
-Must always be matte (this panel is like a true gem with what an exception it is and I love it for that alone even if it wouldn't be OLED, otherwise reserved for Apple products)
-Must have a trash gamer design (again this model from Samsung being a rare exception, however it ruins it with the next thing)
-Must be built out of plastic even if it costs 4 grand like the LG OLED Pro monitors because premium metal build quality is reserved for Apple products only (you know the situation is bad when a product from Apple, the Studio Display, is a BUDGET option if you want premium built quality out of actual metal)
-Must have crap UI with no alternative software on Windows itself because that would be too convenient to easily change settings (Only company I know that does this is Gigabyte and again Apple, they don't even have physical buttons on the display for that anymore as far as I know).
While this monitor solves some of the issues it's worse in other aspects. Now Samsung can't even be bothered to make another UI for monitors anymore and just uses the terrible Tizen one from their TV's and call it "smart". Or am I missing something? Other than this monitor having no fan it doesn't have any upside, they are literally asking more for less features than the very same panel in other brands like Alienware and that one only has a fan because Nvidia can't be arsed to finally upgrade their G-Sync Module from their ancient 28/20nm manufacturing process. Btw there is no excuse for this not having G-Sync because the lowest rating that doesn't require specific hardware (G-Sync Compatible) is an open standard like FreeSync and works the very same way.
Considering this costs 400 $ extra (even 600 $ without the last call to make it cheaper) compared to the AW3423DWF they really have no excuse for the asking price considering the feature set is the same. Imagine how cool it would have been if this was actually made out of a full metal body. Now that would have been a legit feature worth the asking price. Not just because build quality but also because it could have been used as a heatsink to drive the panel harder and lower the risk of burn-in.

Clearly states "metal frame"...
I can confirm this has a metal back to it, first thing I checked when opening the box. It looks amazing and feels like a quality product but I’m not sure I like the screen quality compared to my LG C1 oled.
@@SmithyM3 Then why is the person in the video clearly stating it is plastic? Guess I'll have to look more into this on reddit or something.
Back plate is quality plastic, only the stand is metal
i want oled but price kill it
"useless Qur'an", "it's waste of time" literally 20 years later " i have no idea why I am born in this earth"
I think at this price, at least we should get 2560 rather than 1440.
And also maybe build in the power supply? I know the panel is thin but it can be put into the holder since the holder is not really strong. the monitor will shake when the desk is shaking.
Or maybe build it into the RGB circle.
apple studio display 😂
how is this guy's 3070 only getting 70-80 fps on bf2042?? surely he's got a bottleneck somewhere
