I purchased this pattern. Most videos I have seen show gluing the pieces together and then punching holes through both layers. Do you punch your sewing holes in each piece separately? If you do punch the holes in each piece before gluing, how do you get the holes to line up?
Hello, Thank you for commenting on my video. First of all, let me talk about how I prepare my patterns. I turn the sketch I draw on paper into a pattern using drawing programs. The programs I use (for example lightburn) allow me to place stitch holes at the intervals I want. I have a desktop laser cutting machine in my workshop. When I reach the product I want, I convert the pattern I created on the computer into dxf, svg and pdf formats. If I have time, I prepare one more product. While doing this, I take a video of it. After editing the video, I upload it to youtube. I offer the pattern files I have prepared in various formats for sale on Etsy. Since I prepare the seam holes with a computer program, they overlap exactly. If you are going to prepare the stitch holes with a fork, I recommend you to pierce the leather pieces by putting them on top of each other. I use glue for most of the patterns, this keeps the stitching stable. I don't use glue for big patterns like bags because I can't fix long and curved edges with glue. A good seam solves this problem. I hope I was able to help you. Please write to me if you encounter any problems. I will try to answer quickly outside of my sleeping hours. Have a happy day. Greetings from Turkey.👋😊 Serpil
