  • On my recent pilgrimage to Nagasaki, Japan, I discovered with awe the story of the hidden Christians, who kept their faith for 250 years. Here is a short account of that event:
On March 17, 1865, at the entrance of the Oura Catholic Church in Japan, a group of women and children stood in front of the church. Father Bernard Petitjean opened the doors, invited the women and children in, and prayed with them.
"I had scarcely been praying the Our Father when three women came and knelt near me; and then one of them, placing her hand on her heart, said to me in a whisper, 'The heart of all those present is the same as yours.' And the woman asked again, 'Where is the Virgin Mary?'" - Fr. Petitjean
In my silent reflection, I wrote this song, inspired by the story and journey of the hidden Christians in Japan. Sharing a rough take and raw mix.
