🎉 Jack, your videos have been my go-to for drumming inspiration since the early days of Icanplaydrums. This latest one is another gem! 💎 Your teaching style is top-notch, and I'm already seeing improvements in my technique. Keep rocking! 🚀
Great video, Jack. Your teaching makes hard stuff simple. Double strokes and buzz rolls are easier now. You got a real talent for teaching. Keep it up.
Jack, this video is fantastic! Quick question: when practicing buzz rolls, should I focus more on wrist movement or finger control? I sometimes get fatigued quickly, is there a way to build endurance? What’s the best way to incorporate these exercises into a daily practice routine? Your insights would be super helpful, thanks a lot.
Hi Eddie, firstly thank you :) I would say it is both, the wrist drops the stick down (once only - don't shake the wrist), but the amount of bounces you get is determined by the amount of pressure or "squeeze" inside the grip. Don't count the bounces though, just go for a sound.
I’m curious about how to maintain even dynamics during double strokes and buzz rolls. Should I be focusing more on my grip or the rebound of the sticks? Also, how long did it take you to master these techniques? Any personal experiences or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for being such a great teacher.
Both actually man, but also stick heights has a big overall impact on the volume of your rolls. Generally you want there to be a start and an end to the roll (accents) with the roll itself a little softer throughout. Up and downstrokes will come into play here.
I appreciate the effort, Jack, but the video didn't work for me. The instructions were too fast and it was hard to grasp the techniques properly. Slowing down the pace might improve it.
