Thanks for watching. Not sure why, perhaps a pilot in here tell us. Could be just a route allocation by the Air Traffic Controller. That departure route is called Alladan Bravo I think.
@@FunForYegon This is not a specific departure but an ATC cleared route. An immediate left turn isn’t always possible due to the Aberdare Ranges and Mt Kenya which are fairly high. The alternative would be to continue straight ahead until one is high enough for the left turn (also done occasionally when the airspace above the airport is busy). Hope you enjoyed your journey.
@@lant404 no, this is not the explanation for the right turn. Nairobi city is to the immediste left side of the airport. It has noise restrictions and a minimum altitude over which it must be over-flown. Therefore since the airplane os below the minimum after takeoff, it cannot turn left and so has to take the longer right turn while gaining altitude. Mt kenya is over 400 km away from nairobi therefore has no influence at all.
@krishan Makes sense. Was wondering what effect Mt. Kenya has at that distance for a plane taking off in Nairobi. Terrain around JKIA looks quite friendly.

Kenya airlines is better than most US carriers it appears, being served a decent meal of beef and rice, veg, roll, cake, apple juice, and tea

Great video
Very patriotic indeed
If you can be lucky to acquire a seat where you can take a video of the engines and their sound itakua fiti
How can kq compete on the international market with only 8 widebody aircrafts in it's fleet?
Spectacular indeed 👏👏
Thank you 😊.
Spectacular
Flight?
Wow💯.
I was curious when i saw the title-this should be embraer 190 right--so thats a typo cause there is no embear 190
Sure, that's a typo, the rest of the video/subtitles has the correct spelling.
Where are you heading??

what was your destination?
I have only been in matatus zile za Eastlando. Mtu husikia aje akiwa kwa ndege?
It's the worst feeling ever. Thank God you've never been in a plane. Very fortunate.
@@erickanyugo3253 ningependa but mahustler kama sisi kupanda ndege ni ndoto tu.
You can try Nairobi Mombasa siku moja. They frequently discount to 3k or even less during low season.
Next time do international travels
You just passed over my house
Nice content, new subbie.
Why did they take a longer right turn 270degrees, instead of a shorter 45degree left turn?

Embrear no Embear. Imagine Ethiopian airlines has almost 4 times number of planes as kq so sad for Kenya.
That is a typo.
Nunua yako moja uongeze kwa hio fleet, u keep fcukin repeating same thing..... Gv us a solution
