Murder is never the answer, obviously… but psychological torture (especially using a mothers child to do so, as a pawn) is a very, very, very dangerous game.

But Ke!ly? Claiming she didn't know what was going to happen? Says she hid so she wouldn't see what was being done? If -- *_IF_* -- those things were true, she could've tried to stop him, called the cops, run for help... She did none of those and let someone murder one of her __*daughter's* family members,_ then covered it up. Even if she'd been honest thge first time the cops talked to her, he might have been found & survived.

You missed the low crime rate part, it seems. It's hard to stay in practice if you don't have the situation come up often. The department surely should've done retrainings, but when you're in small, low-crime areas, it's a whole different ballgame than even a moderately sized area. Where I live, when a major crime happens, they have to request the closest city lend experts and advisors to make sure it's handled right. My area's small enough, our sheriff's department has a volunteer posse to help with searches and securing the boundaries of crime scenes, because they simply don't have the manpower for it. I've lived here for eighteen years, and they've only had one murder, and one case of arson. The only other crime is drug manufacturing, and that's handled by the state's FBI.
Anyway, said it was 2016, so they also might've been a little nervous due to the events going on then and in the last couple of years, about their treatment of suspects.

If you're working at a store, you SHOULD know where everything is, but if you don't get a certain item very often, that can fit in different places in the store, if someone asks you where it's at, you might not even know if it's in stock without asking a co-worker. If you're in a place where there's not a lot of crime, as a police officer, you're not getting the trial-by-fire that officers in bigger places, with more crime, get. It's a fact.
It doesn't make it right, it's not an excuse, it's explaining why you see officers behaving differently depending on the area they're operating in. Just like you can't expect officers in Denver, Colorado to know how to handle someone holding an alligator hostage, like cops in Miami, Florida would know how to. You can't expect those Miami cops to know how to handle a missing person in a snow storm, but the Denver cops would.

I was over a thousand miles away when i found out, and not only was the pain of finding that out searing enough, C.P.S. then came and took the rest of our children away, and gave my sister sole custody of them. "NOT ONCE" have I thought of hurting my soon to be ex-wife for her incompetence or my sister for denying any contact with my children to me despite the fact that i had nothing to do with the death of my daughter. There are things that even the strongest of us will struggle to control, and by just swallowing the pride and handing it to Jesus, the relief goes away from the pain and the suffering that would create thoughts of homicide. I don't like the position I'm in, I hate it, but what can I do? NOTHING! So, Jesus, take the wheel!

@@granmabern5283My ex-wife was very immature and not a very good mother, and due to the trauma of my son and two daughters losing their baby sister, my sister simply chose to cut both of us off equally. I don't like my sister, but if it weren't for her, my son and daughters would be in the system. I'm grateful that they're with her. I don't hate my ex-wife for murdering our baby or for leaving me for someone else when I needed her the most, but I certainly don't want anything at all to do with her. Being on fire would've felt better than the pain I felt when I found out the way my baby girl lost her life. Agreed. But, I hope she'll at least get the full 35 years with no parole, she showed no remorse. If they hadn't figured everything out and she was free, I do think she would have tried to hurt the lady that had her daughter or hire someone else to do it.
