I wish I would have seen this before I gave away a beautiful table lamp. I just brought a new table lamp to replace the one I gave away. You live you learn. I will know for in the future. Thank you for the demonstration.
Hello, I found a beautiful lamp on clearance. I came home and it didn't work, but it's so cute that I didn't want to return it. Thanks to you and your tutorial, I went to HOMEDEPOT, bought the socket and saved it. Thank you very much for sharing 😊 ⚘️
As a single female I have to learn home repairs myself. Thanks for sharing also I wrote down notes on your tutorial, it feels good to learn a new lesson.
I really appreciate the information I received when I watched your video to fix a lamp. You let me onownthat not all lamps have two screws. I was perplexed and ready to give up before seeing your video. Now, I am ready to see if I can fix my lamps that have just been sitting on the tables in the living room. Thanks.
Thank you for this. I found a lovely lamp at Home Goods for $25 on clearance. I should have know that was too good of a bargain. I got it home and it doesn’t work. Your video is so easy to follow that I’m going to give this a try this weekend. I’ll come back and let you know how it turns out.
Great Video! Thank you so much for this video! I have been getting into wanting to try rewiring for a while now.. well, ever since I sent about 10 lamps to be Rewired for the first time ever and got a bill back for a cppl thousand. After that I decided I’m going to figure this out! Prob is I think I bit off more than I can chew with the 3 way hand built nautical light lamp. It’s now in pieces and not sure I have it in me to put bk together
Thanks so much, just had my desk lamp switch die on me. Off to the hardware store. The Underwriters knot was especially helpful. By the way, love uour interior decoration, very tasteful!
hi! thank you for this tutorial! i’m confused how you were able to attach the uno shade on the first lamp to the new socket? i had to replace a socket with a different one so the uno lampshade would fit.
I'm glad the video was helpful to you! I had to teach myself on this one. I did watch several other videos and found that not one of them addressed everything I needed. So I wanted to share everything I'd learned in one place.
Scrolling through for a few days and nothing as good out there. I just retrieved my favourite porcelain Där from the bin. It's had a long life but white ginger jar base with Moroccan cut outs all over. Nothing nicer out there for the place it glows. So maybe I'll be able to add a new brass holder and rewire a new cable. No tool to remove the old one from a small opening in base to a high internal lamp holder .

@uniquelyursula87 yes fixed it today!
I just wish that all lamps were like yours. Mine has a totally different socket. We will see if I can replace it with a regular one
Excellent idea thanks
Awesome! Question. Can you replace just the switch part of the lamp socket? Like the part you turn? 🤔
I’m curious who taught you how to do this.. again, great video!

I’m going to try and repair my lamp
Oh good, let me know how it goes!
Its more fun if you leave it plugged in!
LOL!! I confess that I checked my bulb at one point and needed to adjust something and didn't unplug and got zapped!! Not fun at all haha!!
Who for????
6:43 - Those push-in connector sockets shouldn't be trusted. Always use a socket with screw terminals. It's safer.
Fabulous… will you do mine… Angela
😀
I can't believe I bought a new lamp.... 🤦♀🤦♀🤦♀
