As someone who works on a cattle finishing lot in Iowa and loves BJJ, this scratched the weirdest niche. This Jeff guy is awesome!

🐄. I feel like Jeff wanted to talk about jiu jitsu a couple of times but Nicky Rod and Damien were like "just stick to the beef talk, white belt." Also, Damien had an opportunity to discuss why he's doing mma, but chose to let it slide. I wish to know his motivation.

By far most boring podcast yet
Seems like a nice guy but on the whole grass Vs. grain he's spinning you. I'll lay it out for you as simpleman as possible.
Disclaimer: I eat both though prefer grass fed, it's probably not going to change your life either way, I used to raise cattle but this was 15+ years ago in Europe so take from that what you will.
Corn feeding cattle is unhealthy, for the cows; it causes a multitude of diseases in cows, which means they have to use more antibiotics to keep them alive, the meat you get has more toxins and fewer nutrients than grass fed. Fact.
Why is it unhealthy? Cows evolved over millions of years eating mostly grass, which is significantly higher in fibre and nutrients compared to corn. It's only the last 50 years (post WW2) that cows are fed on this and they're not used to it.
So why does the industry do it? Money. Corn is significantly higher in calories which means you'll bring a cow to full size and can sell it much quicker than a grass fed animal.
He already said industrial cattle farms make 100 bucks per head of cattle and it takes 2 years to bring them to market! Think about how many animals you need to make enough money and how much more money you'd make if you halfed the time needed to be able to sell them. Depending on where you get your meat from, grass fed will take 2-4 years to go to slaughter, corn fed in 14-18 months. Do the math.
Also, what he said about not being able to dry age, or get the maillard reaction from grass fed is just false.
Anyway, as I said, it's probably not going to affect your life anyway, but you deserve to make an informed decision.
