I aspire to one day be as good at something as you are playing this piece here; outstanding performance
I wish I could explain to someone else how outstanding this is. The memorizing, the comfort and mastery of playing, and the sheer technical skill. Most people will never be half this good at their chosen profession.
Made my day! Thanks for such a great compliment!
What an exquisite performance! You could tell from his lovely smile that he clearly loves performing and taking part in his craft. He's extremely inspirational to everybody, not just musicians, and I hope that one day I can reach his level of skill despite my late start!
Sorrow On Screen thanks for the kind words and glad you liked it!!
What a beautiful sounding xylophone and group!!! Well done!
There are no words in any language to describe how much I love this!
One of my section leaders is performing this as an ensemble. We have yet to be assigned backing parts but listening to him practice it makes me pray that I get picked for marimba.
I watch this video way too much for it to be a healthy obsession but I don't care because this is amazing. It makes me want to get up and dance around my room :)
beautiful!
Beautiful!
GREAT!
Music soothes the soul. This young man is a friend of my family.

my toxic trait is thinking i could play this no problem
What concert hall was this performed in?
Powell Symphony Hall in St Louis
Great performance!
One question though: where did you get it? Did you have to purchase straight from Bob Becker (where do you go for that) or did you get it from a retailer like Steve Weiss?
You can only get it through Bob xylomusic@aol.com I highly recommend!
I'm assuming I need to send him an email through that link then?
Yes!
Hi, do you know where I could possibly get the sheet music for this, specifically for the marimba parts? Thanks
You need to contact Bob Becker directly at xylomusic@aol.com. Good luck!
Who makes this xylo?
is this a yamaha marimba with adams frame? wattt?
David Vladovsky yes it is! Our job of retro fitting!
Could I ask what model of Deagan that xylophone is?
It’s an Artist Special. 4 octave. Beautiful instrument!
Took the words right out of my mouth. Absolutely beautiful!
Do you mind telling me the mallets you used for this?
I used the Malletech NR 36's which are a little hard, but I had just performed this with orchestra the night before and didn't want to change.
Is this a xylophone/marimba duet?
Hey! Is there sheet music available to purchase this?
flashgamer1275 email Bob Becker. Xylomusic@aol.com
2:14
Can you send me the sheet music ensemble at all?
You need to contact Bob Becker directly at xylomusic@aol.com. Good luck!
So, how many girlfriends are they?
Ziwei Miao 3!
Is the introduction improvised?
It's written out completely but I am tweaking small things here or there, but mostly written out.
I'm trying to learn this song, but I just can't handle the super fast parts, like at 4:10. Are there any speed exercises you would recommend?
I separate "note perfect" practice from "speed practice". This is not to discount accuracy as accuracy is important. But if you never work on speed, it will be hard to gain. I practice scales, arpeggios and simple exercises with the specific goal in mind of getting comfortable at really fast speeds. That should help you get more comfortable at the extreme tempos.
William James Percussion make a video lesson on how you practice technique for speed please
Crash Bandicoot in here??
I can play flight if the bumblebee....still learning this.....just started
I'm sure I can do it only by sight-reading
Way different from flight of the bumblebee
How people in China name they're baby's:
Boring, square, tasteless, graceless
Marylin District please enlighten me. What did you see in this performance that made you think it warranted this classless comment?
Pay no mind. Marylin was listening to this whilst learning to cook a meatloaf. She sampled her own creation and accidentally critiqued it here.
