I’m a 63 yo woman, in menopause, and I feel better than I did when I was in my reproductive days. No more cramps, headaches, and anxiety about getting pregnant, and worrying about tampons LOL! I do make an effort to take care of myself, stay at a healthy weight, exercise, reasonably healthy diet, active social life, great relationship, still working at a great career, take some supplements. I don’t take any prescription drugs. I feel fortunate but I have friends around my age or older and we’re doing just fine, thank you! I’m not as concerned about how long I live but how well. I’ve had a fortunate life and whenever fate calls me, I’m ready. It’s all good!

"Extreme age is indicated, on the order of six thousand years"---Mr. Spock, "Star Trek" episode "Requiem for Methusaleh." The OT mentions Methusaleh lived 969 years. Today this is held to be a myth. But in the time of M, there was a tremendous vapor canopy surrounding the Earth, which blocked out most harmful solar radiation/cosmic rays. When the canopy collapsed, landforms like the Grand Canyon were formed, as oceanic amounts of water ran off the continent along with the rise of mountains. People will believe what they feel is most "stylish."

I read about Dr. Sinclair's book "Why We Age, and Why We Don't Have To," very educative. There's no point increasing lifespan without health span. The goal should be to live longer while staying young and healthy. People who say they don't want to live forever should still support this because you can always change your mind later but not if you're already dead. I have been saying this... longevity is our choice! If we want to sustain our health, we have to do something about it! This will start by knowing what supplies our body needs. Start by eating a balanced diet, quit vices, exercise regularly and take an NMN supplement. It's my 7th month taking the NMN by Vitruvin already. It's cost-effective, and I can tell that what I hear from the feedbacks online aligns as well to my experience.

Wouldn't it be a good idea if one of these biotracking companies could measure your nutritional needs and then send you a customized multivitamin supplement on a regular/subscription-basis to bring all your vitamin/mineral levels up to the ideal levels every month/quarter. So in other words, they give you a blood test every quarter, then following that send you a supplement (your supply for the quarter) based on your needs to bring your levels for each nutrition up to the optimal levels.

Then we have essential fatty acids, mitochondrial support, antioxidants, senolytics, NAD boosters, anti inflamitories, blood sugar mediation and more. You would save a lot of money just studying nutrition and seeing what works. You're not going to measure certain nutrients to the milligram. That's a pain.

You are right about the recurring advice that centred on diet, exercise, sleep and maybe a bit about superficial stress reduction. Same old stuff and that’s it from medical bioscience viewpoint until their pharmaceutical friends stumble upon an ‘amazing’ silver bullet pill.
Meanwhile, the rates of psychological disorder and dementia are increasing rapidly. So if the researchers turn to the obvious causal pathways to psychological distress that underpins the whole process of living and change their outlook from fragmented reductionist methodology to the understanding of the human consciousness holistically, the entropic slippery slide of ageing won’t be altered, significantly.

IMO, it's going to take an engineered approach to end aging. That means, we will likely need some pretty powerful AI with lateral thinking abilities to help us understand the biology enough to engineer solutions to aging, in a timely manner. Otherwise, it will take us a very long time to understand the biochemistry enough to achieve this goal. Right now, even with our "sophistication" we can't cure many basic diseases...from cancer to issues like baldness etc. Pretty pathetic.

Menopause is a blessing. I have been taking resveratrol and other supplements and increased my steps and eating a better diet and I’m feeling much more energetic, but I still am glad to have raised my kids and now just enjoy my grand babies!!! I love Dr. Sinclair, he’s devoted his life to the health of the world and he’s willing to share it.

Our civilization is built to cater to the need of the youth and middle aged. There is paucity of senior friendly infrastructure. We are doing a pathetic job at caring for the senior population that we have. Look how many perished in seniors’ homes from COVID19. Nurses abandoned them and left them alone in many nursing homes. The dementia population is about to triple or quadruple by 2050 and by making people live longer we are only compounding the problems. There is a serious nurse shortage already with many quitting due to vaccine mandate. The future is nothing short of a horror story. It would unfold in 30-40 years. Policy makers and public better start planning how to house the seniors already here and not put in too much work to make that demographic cohort double or triple in size. We are in a deep enough hole that it is time to stop digging. My advice to all is not live past 80 you wont be able to afford it. Forget 180 and 200. Biologists have determined that maximum lifespan is 140 with only rare humans going past 120 but the quality of life is not worth hanging around.

I wanna go off at 60, *but looking and feeling like 25.* Even if I have all the money in this world, don't wanna be a part of one that's certainly gonna go extinct. But on the other hand, I wanna live infinite years to figure out beyond death and come back to life and give priceless knowledge back to humanity so they fix their mistakes and get back to proper way of life so all can enjoy immortality with a choice to die under their control.

For anyone wondering if NMN works, and is perhaps concerned about people who say it does nothing, perhaps I can share my experience.
I'm 36, I take 500mg a day sublingually (which in theory has better bioavailability). I exercise like crazy 4 day a week (which I'll explain the perhaps unclear relevance in a tic)
My resting heart rate is 44 to 48bpm, which as I'm 93kg is "non-standard."
I also take a lot of olive oil.
With people whom say "they don't feel anything" I can understand this if they are not exercising. Where NMN becomes noticeable is in recovery after exercise and cardiovascular fitness, which, you wouldn't notice if you aren't pushing yourself.

One thing that annoys me about Aubrey de Grey is that he is quite dismissive of lifestyle factors. Obviously he is right that they are limited in their actual ability to extend life, but the evidence that Dr. Sinclair gave that you can avoid 15 years of physical and mental decline if you follow a good lifestyle is extensive and a really big deal for healthspan.
Why is de Grey so dismissive? Because his own lifestyle is terrible. He's an alcoholic. Alcoholics and addicts will go to great lengths to justify their behaviour, and that is what he is doing.

OK sure. Now substitute "ovaries" for literally any other organ in the entire body and realize that the correlation almost certainly still holds true. So is there a reason this woman is focused entirely on menopause, other than that she desperately wants women to be the key to everything?
