Hello, My name is Jackie and the videos come to you from County Mayo in the West of Ireland.
Here I grow vegetables on the part of 1.2 acres and the donkeys and goats enjoy the rest.
A lover of the outdoors, and being creative.
Helen and I moved to Ireland from the UK in 2016.
We bought a cottage that needed significant love and attention after being left unlived in for more than ten years.
We have now created a beautiful place to live.
Life on the smallholding is of course an all-year-round ongoing job which I enjoy so much and do hope that you will enjoy the videos.
Through the channel we have made some lifelong friends it is a fantastic community, it truly is !!
    Come and join us 📌

Happy holidays to you too, video soon , had a couple of bereavements and bad weather , desperately want to get back on track. A quiet one for us this year just the two of us. Just lit the stove so relaxing. You take care x

So good to see you, Jackie! The garden looks beautiful and very productive - what more can we ask for? The new bed looks wonderful and will give you so much growing space next year. I'm already planning for next year too! I think true gardeners never stop. Take good care, Audrey

Thanks so much! 😊 Hi Audrey, there is always something to be getting on with, the planning part for next year is exciting though isn't it. Trying to add a few more perennials to the garden too but probably grow from seed. Have a lovely week :)

Great tour! Love the goats playing♥️ if my carrots are a couple of inches long I will be happy!!! It has been a great year of growing, this week I am hoping to complete harvest in the back garden as that's North facing and won't see sun again until March after the end of this month...

Hi Stephen , so lovely to hear from you, enjoy your day relaxing , say hi to Margaret . It’s awful , glad that you’re ok . I had a fall outside in the garden , went down before I even knew what happened , made me walk a bit gingerly in that frosty weather . I had a couple of bereavements and what with the weather I just haven’t done any filming. I’m back on track after Boxing Day and I’m looking forward to getting the channel going. I found some tiny Egyptian onion bulbs in my craft room a couple of weeks ago and they were sprouting , I put them into little pots yesterday. The walking onions are great … keep transplanting and you’ll have them forever , much love to you both x

I enjoyed your garden tour Jackie 😍 It seems like there is more work to do now in the garden than in the Spring. Both are wearing me out.🤣 Did I see a new sweet little black puppy?

I realized very recently that my poly tunnel, which I have never closed in on either end, is doing me no good and is actually sitting in the ares that gets sun. The trees around my house are shading a lot now. They are too big for me to take down. I can reuse the cattle panels and plastic. So my winter project is removing that and replacing with containers which will need to be filled by spring. Laura M.

Sounds like a great plan. Those cattle panels are really useful, can't get them here.
      Have a lovely week 👋

    • @Thegonepotties
      @Thegonepotties  2 роки тому

Hi Stephen, not in the first year, they need to get established. When you grow them and get the little onion bulbs on the top, pick them and keep planting then you will have loads. In an ideal world they are supposed to lean over and plant themselves, sometimes they don’t , hope this helps. In the second year you’ll have plenty for cooking and sarnies , they are smaller but great 😊 Enjoy
