Awww thanks Amy! Thank you for watching our videos!
What a fantastic idea. Looked the dog got spoiled from the both of you.
Aloha Lewis! It was a lot of fun. I think he like hanging out with us too :)
Helpful tips
Glad to hear that! Thank you for watching!
Aweeeee adopt him you guys !!!!!
Hahaha....Deborah I will be hiding this comment from Brodi....haha! We live in a very teeny tiny condo with not much of a yard. We can't have a dog his size unfortunately. If we can find a smaller pup at the shelter then we'd be down to rescue!
I love all the postings you all do. I have a very dear friend that lives in KAPAIA and I go to see her usually once sometimes twice a year. I love your videos thank you very much
Great video! My grand dog is from Kauai. She was a transfer from the island and was adopted from the SEATTLE HUMANE SOCIETY 5 years ago. Agreed that most of the dogs are discarded or dumped hunting dog mixes( hound, airedale, whippet and bully mixes) that are not useful anymore. These are the most loving and forgiving dogs on the planet. A shout out on Autumn"s Keens, a great brand for walking, hiking,or working in.
Aww I love that!!!
You two are the best!! Always enjoy & look forward to your videos.👍🏼 My mom & I did this a couple of times during our trip. We took our dogs to Kalapaki Beach. It was a blast for our furry friends as well as us. During one of the outings, we met fellow SF Bay Area Californian who was very interested in the sweet dog we had. He took pictures to send to his wife who wasn’t on beach at the time. Not long after we got home I saw on KHS Instagram page that the dog had been adopted & was now living in the SF Bay Area. Not positive it was same guy we met on the beach, but I would like to think so.😉 Important thing is the dog was adopted!❤️
Aloha! That is so amazing that you took a dog out a couple of times during your visit and even more amazing that you likely aided in the pup finding a new home!!! It is so important to get them out. We plan on doing this more often. Thank you so much for watching!
We did this the last time we were on Kauai. What an amazing program!
So much fun right?! Where did you take the dog? We love to hear about other peoples experiences.
I cannot believe Codi said shaved ice. LOLOLOLOL
RIGHT?! I was laughing so hard...well, you heard me...hahahahaha!
That was very nice of you both to take a stray dog out of the Humane Society Society and take it out for walk this video was a different turn that had little heart for stray.
Make me wonder about here where I live and see if it can be done here also.
Rick look like an old fox hound that is a dog that loves to run I know from experience that I have friends that uses them to hunt coyote.
Aloha Roger! Thank you for watching! How amazing would that be if you introduced a new idea like this in your town!! Yep, Godric was definitely a hunting dog :) full of energy!
Two more weeks and we will on Hawaii Time for two weeks, can’t wait, this will be 9th. visit to Kauai. Because of you we have new adventures planed,THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
Aloha Douglas! We are so happy to hear that you've enjoyed our videos and that we've given you ideas for new adventures! Thank you so much for watching :)
This was an awesome video. My husband and I will be there for 3 weeks for our 7th time this April. Thank you for letting everyone know about needing a pass for Ke'e beach. Thanks to you guys we will be checking out several new things. May I suggest a video on vegan food, as we eat whole food plant based and have so many friends that eat the same way. Possibly at healthy eats, greenery cafe or Papayas natural foods. We have only been to the first 2 and hope they are still open. Thank you again.
Aloha Brandie! Great suggestion. I post pix of other random places on our Instagram too. There is a cute lil vegan walk up in Koloa town called Leahi Health that I went to back in November. Thank you so much for watching our videos!!! Glad to hear they have been helpful.
@@OnHawaiiTime Thank you I'm adding it to my list now. You guys are awesome!
We adopted a dog for the day on Maui a couple of years ago. Had a great time and met several people who saw the collar and said they had done the same. Our only mistake was taking the dog around the two lane winding Pali from South to West Maui. The dog got car sick and I swear they must have fed him an entire 50 pound bag of dog food that morning. That rental jeep never smelled the same.
Aloha Jaime! Love that you guys took a dog out on your visit to Maui.....sad to hear that it got car sick....ugh!! I bet when you returned the Jeep the car rental place was wondering what the heck you guys did in there..haha! Thank you for watching!
real dusty and stuff going on here.Good on you to give a good dog a good day out.
Aloha Roger! We had a lot of fun. We plan to do this more.
awesome you do good work
Love this video so much! ❤
Thank you so much!! Glad yo liked it! We had a blast making it
Love love love what you do for those of us who love to visit Kauai and need to know stuff like this....for the animal lover in all of us!
Thank you so much, Brody and Autumn!!
Aloha Rita! You are so very welcome. Thank YOU for watching and for your kind words :)
So great you guys did this!! but a little sad too. WE are dog lovers and we are going to do this for sure!!!!!!
Aloha Diane! It is always sad seeing all those dogs and cats in the kennels :( But such a great program! You'll have to share your experience with us when you get back here to take a dog out. Thank you for watching :)
Just awesome! So glad you made a video about this. A couple of years ago on our last day on Kauai we visited the Humane Society later in the day. Was too late to take out a pup but will definitely do this the next time during our frequent visits! BTW... they asked us if we were flying back to the mainland on Alaska Airlines and if so could we chaperone a pooch to the mainland. He was adopted by a mainlander earlier that week but they couldn't take it home right away due to their travel agenda. Unfortunately we were not flying Alaska but this is good to know that they have a partnership with certain airlines. Hopefully this is still the case. We love you guys, we love Kauai and the work you do on this channel!
Aloha David! Yes, they still do this with dogs and cats. Definitely do this on your next visit. It was so much fun!
Godrick is on a field trip right now he’s at Starbucks😂👏🏼🤙🏽
Awww!! Tell him hello from Autumn and Brodi!
I have really come to love you guys.
'Love the (always) positive energy Brody and Autumn bring to this part of the mainland. Thank you Again and Aloha from Sweet Home.
If I may...
I was 58 when the phone call came. The voice on the line was a VA counselor responding to my reaching out. Her exact words were, "jonn, you are right on time. Men shove it down til between the ages of 55 and 60." I chocked up. I got my service dog.
Pepper is 7 now.
A good friend of mine and former blkoppsmarine, has a dog like God-Rick (awesome name)
...very intelligent, learns very quickly...and this lil guy already loves you both. With Very Little training he'd be an amazing service dog. (There is a difference between service and companion).
Pepper goes everywhere with me. Pepper is on duty 24/7 so I let him 'talk' to whom ever he sees a need (he still refuses to pay for airfare but he sits at my feet for free. I've literally seen a GREAT DANE on a recent flight...are you kidding me! LOL...oh well, everybody was happy👍) The VA will train your dog.
Maybe you dont need a service dog. I volunteer with Vets. and 7 out of 10 Vets will not access their benifits.
Aloha OHT
Maybe there is a Vet reading this. You're Not Alone. You have family. Thank you for your service and Welcome Home.
This is amazing! So happy for you that you found a service dog. Thank you for sharing your story. Dogs are so amazing in so many ways. It fills our hearts knowing that you love OHT!! :) We appreciate you and your support so much!

SWEET VID !! Love that Doggies Name !!
He was really funny! Brodi really wants a doggie. But you know how small our place is and how busy we are :( It's just not the right time.
Get him..... Save him.,..... Love him....
Aloha Andrew! I wish we could :( Thank you for always watching our vids!
I love you guys. Watching your videos always gets me in a good mood! I'm on Hawaii time!!!
Yay! Thank you!
What an amazing thing for the Humane society and you both to do! I haven't heard of this in my neck of the woods but we are in a pretty rural area. Thanks for sharing and Aloha from Idaho
Aloha Nicole! Thank you so much for watching! I haven't heard of this before living here either. It really is such a cool program!
GREAT VIDEO! I 'd heard of this Program when I saw it on some travel info channel at our hotel room! Although passing by the Humane Society many times on our way to Poipu and Waimea, we've never stopped in! We'll have to add this for our next trip to Kauai! Thanks again for this very informative video! Was your hike to that covered shelter the one to Sleeping Giant? We've been to the Wailua Shaved ice Truck in Kapa'a and loved it, too! Aloha!
Yes definitely add this to your next visit!! You'll have to let us know about your experience. There are so many other places to take the dogs to. We definitely want to do it again and go south next time.
This is one of the best things I have seen in forever ❤ 💕. He is sooo cute. Would totally adopt him if I lived there (soon we hope).
Yippy - finally got around to the Doggie Field Trip. It is such a great program, I wish they had it here in the states. Also nice to see you guys out and about again on the trails.
I agree. I'm going to suggest it to my local humane society in Montana.
Hey Ray!!! Maybe you could start a movement in your town ;)
That would be so amazing!! Definitely let us know if they do!
Autumn's face when Brodi said he's not allowed to have a dog... 😲🤣
Hahahahaha....right?!
I’m always amazed at how many visitors take dogs on field trips on Kauai. 😂👍🤙🏽👏🏼👏🏼😍 I see Goddrick Out and about quite a bit shippys is a favorite dog place. What trail was that ? I hope he gets adopted as a result of this video!
Too funny!!! They said he's been there a while. We could really tell that he was use to going on field trips. He was a cool, very energetic, dude!
Yup he’s a keeper !! I overrule u on not allowing Brodie to keep him 😂😂🤪
The hike you went on looked a lot like Sleeping Giant. I remember when I went in October it was also really muddy there and it took about an hour of scrubbing to get the mud off of my shoes.
What breed(s) is GODRICK ???
Aloha Deborah! He's some sort of hound mix. Definitely a hunting dog. He was on point that entire hike..haha! He nearly pulled me (Autumn) right off the trail a couple of times. He's a strong pup!
I noticed a lot of the dogs you showed at the shelter look like toki one of my daughters friends dog on the island. He is a greyhound mix,Godrick looks like he has a little GH ,beagle & hunting dog Hound like Autumn said👍
GET GODRICK!!!!!!
