that to make sure the business are used for legal mean and that there are no illegal item stashed in the business. The government doesn't want people to use the business as a legal cover to mask/store any illegal items.
@simonlin387 of course the government wouldn't want people to do illegal things, but that doesn't mean they get to violate people's 4th ammendment rights and conduct searches with no warrant. This could lead to an interesting court case, but seeing how the city has been run recently I doubt it will be challenged, and it will just be yet another way for the police to fuck up anything criminals try to do.
The leadership on the server just never seems to learn that the criminals are what makes the server fun and interesting to watch. Only a small subset of the viewer base watches strictly civilian/cop rp. Criminals need to just leave the server for 2 weeks and do other shit to show everyone how dead the server would be.
This is either quite a high IQ content play or the most OOC thing I have ever seen. I seriously hope that it is a content play, because Koil and Budda doing nothing about it would be wild.

That's the most hilarious part, a better analogy would be to work for a contractor that sub-contracts me out to whichever other company I choose (different servers), and the one I've been with now for ages is getting worse and worse, treating me and my co-workers like garbage, and for some reason we all choose to just stay with this company even though other options are available, simply because we've been with this company the longest and we aren't sure if the perks and whatnot at the other companies will be as good, so we just stay. That's the crims on NoPixel right now.

Seeing as los santos is still in the states I can only see this as a pretty big overreach by the council. Realistically if this happened irl the appeals up to the supreme court would eliminate such a law after the first real court case, that or the federal trade commission would get involved here due to infringed buisiness ownership rights. Hell there's a freaking oil tanker which means there are oil interests present on the island. That might create an international incident due to how those are usually owned what with the state claiming dual ownership.

i think they are going for the "if we leave, they win" approach. They very easily had all the justifications to leave when everything happened with the terrorist stuff. Now it just keeps looking worse and worse for Moon. Also, I believe they are staying for the little guys, without CG there would be significantly less eyes to see everything going on and force someone's hand to actually do something. This way they don't give the haters fuel by "leaving when they don't get their way" and they make it significantly harder to say they didn't try to make it work. While annoying and brutal for CG to literally have laws made specifically to target them and push them out of the city and RP, ultimately, its actually a smart move
