After hearing FH9 & FH7s i like FH7s for better sound stage and less fatiguing. FH7s do have the bass bloated issue for being thumpy, but I HIGHLY RECOMMEND using SPINFIT earbuds and the TREBLE FILTER that come with it. It tamed the bloated mid bass and gives wider sound stage, more open feel than the default. Overall this is a REALLY REALLY NICE IEM, the FH7s wasn't in my hearing list until I went in the headphone shop trying for 5 hours. I tried Accoustone, IE600 500 400 300 200, Westone pro x30, Fiio FH15,FH7s FD5,FH9...etc. FH7s wins out. For more exciting and long time listening, FH9 comes close second, but I like the FH7s for more wide SURROUND feel. Note:I listen to different genres, from djent metal to ambient music, less of female vocals. I personal like neutral and wide precise sound stage.
@@AG-en5y i haven't heard FX15 but as for the FD series and FH series i still prefer the 7s, but it really depends on your listen preference & profile, FH7s and FH9 has so much similarities, FH9 being more treble definition, which may be a little too fatigue. 7s is more long term listening.
I loved my FD5's, still salty I forgot them on a plane after a 13 hour flight... and of course "they couldn't find them". When I went back to the counter.
Hey man. I had a search on your channel and in your ranked iems, couldn't find the non S Fiio FH7 ! What do you think of them ? Have you ever tried them ? Cheers ✌️✌️🙂
Love your channel giz. Been a sub since 3 or 4k and watched the hair progression in all its glory. The only problem is you make me want to buy all of the things when I already have like 10 iems and the same in cans. I just got the s12 on your recommendation and it fucking slaps. I a/bed it with the aria (what it would be replacing) and it sounds like a veil is lifted off any song I throw at it. Both in airiness, treble and detail. Between this, my honeydews, my ksc75 and edition xs, I'm good until the next hype train goes past me. The rest of my collection can go (but won't because I'm a bad hoarder! Hahah).
@@MrB10N1CLE problem is not many of them are worth very much. I have 2 sets of iems over $100 and maybe 5 cans over 100. I guess I have just spent a lot of time working out what I like and the only cans I truly don't like are the quarks and kzes4. The rest I enjoy for different things or as a palate cleanser. However, probably looking to get rid of my arias after the s12
I think It will be safer for me to save up to buy the Timeless at this point. As a newbie to the hobby and the humongous amount of IEMS, it's a good place to start haha. Giz, what portable DAC/AMP would you recommend buying to pair it up with the Timeless? *one that does not break my bank*.
I can't recommend this enough. Buy something safe but quality from Amazon (so can be returned if you hate it) and just be done with it. Can't recommend the btr5 enough. Bluetooth goodness and plenty of power. Can just about power my big power hungry planar overhead cans through the normal 3.5mm and comfortably through balanced.
Seconded. Timeless or Letshuoer S12/Z12 is imo the best buy for anyone under $300 who wants to get into the hobby with affordable but top-tier performance for the money - neither needs more than a basic dongle to power it but both scale up nicely with extra power. For the DAC I use the Creative SXFI, it's great but tops out at 24/96, still incredible quality for the $$, otherwise I use them with my UTWS5 BT hooks and they all sound excellent.
The Timeless don't need an amp but the Qudelix 5k is king in 2022. When you get your Timeless make sure to change tips until they sound right. Tips change everything. Once you get the right ones you'll love this IEM. It changed music for me.
Really was hoping Fiio had a winner this time. I like the FH3 but wanted more detail so went with the MB2 Dusk. Also have the Oracle and if this is not on par with it then it's a pass.
Giz I am looking for a good portable something to plug in pc while gonna listening to my oracles. Do you have any specific recommendation to buy around 300-400 dolars? For max sound clarity
@@FabioKasper I wouldnt say they are more V than the FH9 but they are more forward in the mid bass region VS FH9 making them more suited to 70's and 80's contemporary music or anything that was previously released on vinyl where there was nothing below 50HZ.
@@FabioKasper I would say the FH7S is closer in terms of sound to the FD7 which is a big complement considering the FD7 is in my opinion FiiO's finest IEM.
Does changing the eartips help with bloat in the bass frequencies? From my experience with the FD3, switching from balanced to treble sound tubes and tips helped clean up the bass a lot.

@@Gizaudio I know you reviewed it a while back. Issue you had if I remember right was lack of air. I don't hear much, if anything, beyond 10K (I'm older plus didn't protect my hearing as well as I should have during my youth). So for me, there is almost no such thing as "air". Don't know if FD7 is my favorite iem. I have iems that cost more and excel at things. But FD7 is probably my most listened to. Either it, or the Zen. I have an affinity for dynamic driver iem's. Nice channel you have here. I'll keep checking in.
As a basshead IEM, the FH7s is completely outclassed by the Maestro Mini which sits at $430. FH7s is probably outclassed by most IEMs it completes with.
I dont't know if it's only me... I have one Fiio, the FH1s, and it's beautiful (but I don't like it's sound, the sibilance make the treble feel a bit dirty, even after tip rolling). Their other models may sound better, but looks so ugly! At least, we don't have to look at them while listening to the music!

Or 7s over FX15 too? I live at a small town where there's a store that only sells Fiio product so I'm stuck on this brand
