HM 1 would make an amazing film. HM2 I think has too much going on to be just a movie a mini series would suit it better just to flush out all the characters
There were plans to make one, but it was canceled due to the studio wanting to make changes such as removing the animal masks, and even making it not set in Miami
As a person with a more violent personality, I found them quite chill and interesting at first, then realized they're just... Fans of murder, not the motives behind them.

I know it's been said before that each of the main characters of Hotline Miami Two are archetypes of player's reactions to the first game, and I know how the Fans fit into this model by being players who like the aesthetics of the game, but I think it's really cool how each one of the fans is meant to represent an individual aesthetic! From left to right: Alex represents the group of players who loved the concept of Fifty Blessings and the cryptid phonecalls that they were given. Tony represents the group of players who loved the concept of mindless killing in such a simple, arcade-like format. Mark represents the group of players who loved the concept of Beard and the relaxing atmosphere between missions. Corey represents the group of players who loved the concept of Jacket, the quiet and mysterious silent protagonist. Ash represents the group of players who loved the concept of the time period, the 1980s Miami Vice vibe. All together they show what made Hotline Miami have so much charm and why it was so loveable while also displaying the ability of missing the point of the game completely. It would explain as well why most, if not all, of their missions are either pointless or actively harmful to them: if you replicate something without understanding the meaning behind it, you'll end up being a parody of what you idolize.
@@kevinjones432 I sadly can't seem to find the symbolism of Ash and Alex being siblings, I just think it was something put into their characters since their gameplay mechanic requires partnership. Dennaton Games probably didn't want to write them as a romantic partnership since it would probably distract too much from Ash and Alex's dynamics with the other members of the Fans. If the player wanted to know why they tag-team, they would make a simple explanation of "they're siblings" and then think nothing of it. They don't interact much at all one-on-one (besides their death scene) and that's my main reasoning why there's no symbolism. There's actually more symbolism between the interactions of other members with each other than with Ash and Alex. For example Tony berates the other members of the group, but in his moment of death, he chooses to cradle Corey. This is because if he represents the aesthetic of killing and Corey represents the aesthetic of stoicism, then together they represent sociopathic tendencies, which explains why they act the most like Jacket since he is meant to represent a sociopath. They die being the person they wanted to be, and they got their fifteen minutes of fame for it. Also another symbolism between members is how Alex dislikes Corey's preparations. The person that is symbolism for cryptic orders would hate if the strong, silent type decided their own planning instead; thus, that's probably criticize from Dennaton to the player if they played the first Hotline Miami with an overly safe playstyle to their run-and-gun style game. I'll try to skim through the game again sometime soon, and if I find some connection, I'll let you know
