Congratulations, you did amazing! Are you a native german speaker? if not when did you begin learning german? I'm thinking of doing french but dont know if i should

Hi! No definitely not native - started in Year 9. LOTE's are tricky and definitely more work than other subjects, but it all comes down to whether you enjoy them and can see yourself putting in time to build your skills. If you enjoy French enough to translate things in your head while you're walking around, watch shows/listen to music in French, and actively add to vocab etc. then thats a good example of what it takes to do well imo.

Hey Isaac bro, huge congratulations for 99+ ATAR. I'm a year 10 nossal kid planning on doing methods, english, spesh and physics for my 4 mains, and I'm accelerating viscom and applied computing. I have a couple of questions:
1.Can you please give advice for English and Methods
    2. What tutor did you go to for each English?
    3. How do you kill procrastination and if you can, how do you get into that deep work mode (bc I study for insane hours and still get average results)?
    4. What is some general advice for getting 99+ ATAR?
It would be much appreciated if you could answer these 4 questions within the next 2 years before I go into year 12 and sit my vcaa exam lol
    -Aryan

hi mate im not that guy i didnt get as good as him but still got a 99 so i can give tips if he doesnt respond
      1. for methods just try ur best to get ahead of class as bset you can so you dont get behind - youll understand content covered in class better and itll make life a lot easier when you start exam prep. for english youre just gonna have to deal with it ig just make google docs of all the evidence you can use for themes, english is a chore u actually gotta write to get better imo
      2. i bought a shitton of stuff from lisas study guides for my texts
      3. get you and your mates on an app like flora - it helps stop procrastination and makes you want to compete and study more
      4. work hard but also work smart. like no point doing a bunch of diff questions if you already get the concepts
but if youre in year 10 dont stress just focus on getting your fundamentals set and enjoy life before you have far less time to go out
btw dont go for a 99 if you dont wanna go for med or something insane its not worth it otherwise

@@boondoggled_ I agree completely with everything he said, above all do NOT push yourself to a 99 if you don't want a course that needs it, make the most of years 11 + 12 otherwise. If you are going for med still enjoy year 10 no need to try hard at all just build some decent study habits, work smart, and enjoy time with friends. Also forest is a good app for study :)

any tips for methods and psych? you’re doing similar subjects to what I want to do and i’m currently doing methods and psych early

    • @isaacpinczewski665

Hi! Sorry for the late reply.
Methods - practice exams as early as possible, review them critically to address gaps in understanding/ability. build a corrections document which you can use in your bound reference but is more to ingrain what you should AVOID while approaching certain questions. If you're reading this early in year 12 or 3/4 - stay ahead of the class throughout the year, watch a quick video on the topic, have a glance at the chapter, whatever you need to do (can research priming - the logic is its MUCH easier to learn something a 2nd time even if the first was very preliminary). This definitely also applies to psych and other content-based subjects (bio, chem somewhat)
Psych - been a while tbh but develop an exam strategy, know how long you want to spend on each section/reading time (I'd recommend skimming SAQ+ER in reading time and beginning to think abt answers, then doing as many MCQ with the time remaining), pay attention to VCAA's marking schemes and aim to get comfortable predicting that from new question stimuli.
When studying the subject your goal should be active recall - strategies like the Feynmann technique, flashcards that address key points of confusion, etc. are really useful bc at the end of the day you should be able to explain every dot point in the study design in depth.
      Hope this helps :)

Insane scores. Currently a yr 11 in MHS, just wondering what you did to get such insane results. Also, how did you get a raw 50 in Chem and psych?

Rank top 5 or so in a strong cohort, exam score 113/120 but you can 50 with less
