- A pendulum behaves as a simple harmonic oscillator. Learn about the period of a pendulum, how it can be adjusted, and how it compares to a mass on a spring.
I love this teacher and respects what he is doing for us. When I will grow up, I will definitely donate a large sum to khan academy. Great work 👍 keep it up team
Saying that time period is indepedent of aplitude is incorrect, because during the derivation we started with assumption of "sin(theta) = theta" which yields the result, so for most of the aplitudes where sin(theta) is not equal to theta, the time period does depend upon the aplitude.
T = 2 . pi (l/g * (1+ alpha*alpha/16))^0.5, where alpha is the angle of rotation when pendulum's bob is lifted to max position
You are a very good teacher.
About the period... isnt it wrong? For bigger oscilations, like 60º and 50º, oscilation periods do not match
Great video, but pleaaaaaase get a mouth guard (puff guard) for the microphone. If you're listening with headphones you can hear the saliva. It's very unpleasant. Sorry. Just want to be honest.
