I drove down from Charlotte with a buddy & our respective girlfriends, and had 4 friends from atlanta drive up and meet us there. We tailgated for a few hours outside kind of behind the bathrooms. My understanding is that Live Nation threatened legal action against CCNB Ampitheater if they announced a cancellaton without their express consent, and Ghost (then us) were at the bottom of the hill. And shit rolls downhill. Honestly, getting to see my distant friends & the 3 shows during the storm were worth the drive and time off for me.
Norns damn! I had 3 tickets, couldn't get my co-worker and friend to go Tuesday, then found out they re-scheduled for Thursday, took Greyhund up there solo, just to find out AFTER I paid for a Motel 6 that the re-schedule was cancelled!! Got my cabbie to do a 180 and get me back to the station and grey-backed it home. Do I blame Loki for this cruel trick, or Thor for the weather (not THIS weather, but the Idalia which ruined everthing)? I'm out $500 travel and lodging with no event experience to show for it. You drenched berserkers at least got, what 3 songs? A chance to score merch? EDIT: BTW my tickets said "rain or shine", how can they cancel TWICE???
That sucks. I was there with my daughter. We were drenched and could see the stage was just totally soaked. There was equipment that fried and I heard another concert attendee say he saw one of Amon Amarth's guitar players get shocked. The venue didn't prepare adequately and their communication was ass. Sorry you lost out on this whole disaster.
