Gas grenade is such a cool skill. You can use it so many different ways - high dps explosion, armor strip support, pure toxin cloud poison damage, crit based, ignite based, long fuse version, rapid-fire. It's all good.

you can watch my previous video with blink for mapping, for pinnacle/bosses it's exactly as you see, oil and gas preload, then you detonate ~42 gas nades depending on your attack speed when the boss spawns (cue arbiter HP on spawn), then shock with voltaic and stun with flash when gas is out of charges. Repeat.

Yep, for 15k ele hits from rare mobs its letal, need more than 2.5k hp. I play with 2k hp and 10k armour and die one shotted against lvl 2 difficult boss of savanna(1st hyena 2 act boss with spear minions shooting u), my gear cost over 500 ex, nice game😂
If you consider attack speed penalty as dps loss on Scatter Shot, here is the damage values based on your projectile count: If you have 0 additional projectile 92% more damage with full overlap. If you have 1 additional projectile 28% more damage with full overlap. (Tree or Crossbow) If you have 2 additional projectile ~7% more damage with full overlap. (Tree AND Crossbow) However due to Grenade gems have cooldowns your attack speed scaling has an imaginary cap. If your attack speed is so high you had to wait for cooldowns to deal damage. As you can see in the video even with attack speed penalty from Scatter Shot he still has downtime due to cooldown. So we can safely assume that attack speed penalty is not a dps loss for grenades on single target. With this Scatter Shot damage values becomes like this: 0 additional proj 140% more damage 1 additional proj 60% more damage 2 addtional proj ~33.6% more damage Even the gems that have downsides such as long fuse has only 30% damage multiplier. To sum up, it depends on your setup. However in most setups it still has the one of the best damage multipliers in the game considering you have enough area of effect for full overlap.
@@behzatzihni By the way, I was actually thinking about linking Ingenuity support to significantly reduce the cooldown of Gas, but it seems like the cooldown reduction can only be obtained from jewels, and even then, it's still not enough.

Low cooldown, fast attack speed, low fuse duration and low proj speed to play it like a melee shotgun.However, in both PoE games cooldowns are decreased by "cooldown recovery rate" modifier which has a logorithmic curve about actual seconds it reduces. The more you get it the less value you get from it.
sorc ward and cloak provide 2, in my opinion opposing defensive layers. sorc ward = elemental mitigation while sacrificing hit mitigation from attacks/spells (including elemental) cloak = physical mitigation objective of cloak is to get more physical mitigation which is lacking given the weakness of armour
U have such releoad and attack speed that u dont need helmet at all, cause u can fast just shot then always jump in presence to ignite, its opportunity to gear extra armor. And flash grenade has 400% more stun builld up, support on small + amount?
hey.i think decimating strike from ascend tree its useless for us who use gas builds and have the fire helmet,cause it say hits against full hp,but as soon they in your range you burn them and they no more anymore Full HP,right? or im missing something
accuracy support works on grenades, you can see in the gas grenade tooltip the "ESTIMATED MAIN HAND CHANCE TO HIT WITHIN 2M" hit % will change if you remove precision (unless your overcapped for hit%)
looking forward to the lightning build, i'm in the same spot where it feels like i either hit a 2000exalt xbow or im just stuck at a damage cap, and it feels pretty bad because of how fast i've seen deadeyes kill the +2 or even +3 breach bosses.
This is the state of the overall balance of the game, it's imbalanced when comparing defences to top-side tree and damage/speed when comparing with deadeyes
Lightning build work well for late game, but not mid game, try go explosive + gas grenade, i running this combo basically delete everything from the map
i missed where did 85% all res come from, also when you are in red maps, your res gets lowered by -20%, and he barely has res capped in the hideout, which means no res cap in red / yellow maps
Is herald of ash useless? Im running a with gas grenade/ignite as well but since im hearing armour is useless i might go with your strat here once i get to higher tier maps
Why going physical % increase on bow instead of elemental % dmg? I thought they disabled pre calculation increase and you can only increase dmg after its translated to final element
Gemling gets to put two AoE increase support gems in the build and can have either more gem level = more damage, or more heralds/auras/spirit buffs/ballistas due to having more skill slots. You can also freely use Flammability curse on top of Oil Grenade because you can use any gem just by pumping one stat.
You can replace Enfeeble for Flamability for even more damage. Also, there's a support gem called Cursed Ground that really helps with applying curses. Additionally, I realized that penetration applies AFTER exposure and curses. So if you oil grenade a pack of enemies and lower their fire res by 20%, then any penetration over 55% is useless. And if you Flammability curse and oil, then that goes to 55% resistances removed before penetration. Which means realistically speaking you only need around 20% penetration or so, which you can very easily get from tree. That would allow to replace the fire exposure gem on your gas grenade by another support instead.
I disagree to this statement completely on 2 grounds of you not considering opportunity cost and the contradiction saying flammability will give more damage. Not sure if you heard the part of the video where I talked about the resistance of arbiter and the penetration I obtained to counteract this. On a separate note, cursed ground is in my opinion extremely weak due to the fast moving nature of monsters and more so on most bosses using attack mechanics which allow them to move. 1. Saying flammability will provide more damage in a constructed build which achieves 76% pen is incorrect then going ahead and saying to get 20% pen on a build and I'm also not using fire exposure on gas grenade, exposure is applied through oil grenade 2. And enfeeble was a design decision to avoid 1-shots from pinnacles/bosses, increasing your max hit by using enfeeble which I'm not sure you're taking into consideration here.

What I meant to say is that depending on people's playing styles, they can either choose Enfeeble or Flammability. Enfeeble is the defensive choice and Flammability is the offensive choice. Either one works pretty well from my experience, even though the opportunity costs are different. And for the Cursed Ground support, I didn't realize it only applied the curse inside the area. However, I can see it being useful in certain situations like when running Breaches or Expedition. It's a support gem I socket in and out depending on the situation. And for penetration, I was thinking more about mapping in general, where mobs generally won't have 75% fire res like the Arbiter does. When fighting Arbiter I believe it makes sense to respec into penetration to bring down his fire res to 0, but when killing mobs on maps that don't necessarily have high resistances, the exposure from oil grenade can bring their res down to negatives as opposed to 0 with just penetration. So at least for me, when mapping, I like having a small amount of penetration just for any kind of mobs that are a bit fire resistant, but otherwise I like applying exposure instead because of the negative res potential that penetration doesn't have. Also, I never intended to say that you were wrong in any way. I just wanted to provide a different perspective and different options for people to choose from. Sorry if I worded it in a way that was easy to misunderstand.
it's B tier when compared what other builds are able to achieve. gear is not insane but not pepega either. when compared to Jung's 1 shot vine arrow 4sec xesht kill vs a couple minute xesht, I think my rating is quite valid.

Did you test going Sorcery ward vs using the Cloak of Flame? If so, why did you find Cloak of Flame to be better?

exactly, but there are discussions around whether it even matters given it's aoe. I'd imagine that matters hence I have a 100% hit chance.

yes too steep but they are decent but slightly more inefficient
How do you have 85 maximum resistances? I have 83 79 and 79?

it's local damage, the % phys increases the flat physical on the bow. that number is then used as the base for the conversion

yes, the mana cost with +gem levels is too steep, ~300mana per throw which is massive as you can only run inspiration on 1 gem (gas)
