Serizawa is a great character. He's like what would've happened to Mob if Reigen TRULY cared nothing about him. Using him purely as a tool, and not as a person. Using all of his anxieties and depression to manipulate him into an agreeable soldier. Which makes his friendship with Mob feel all the more impactful.
26:15 When I first watched this, I never noticed that Suzuki says "Disappear. Disappear. Disappear." just like the black hole guy at the end of first season.
I like the fact that the 100% at the start is Serizawa's percentage meter NOT Mob's. Mob is completely calm and Serizawa is losing his composure before launching an attack he didn't mean to, really hammer in the parallels between them.
mob's percentage is just his emotional counter btw. he can be just as powerful when he's in a numerically lower one. when it reaches 100% tho, he stops holding back since psychic powers depend on emotions, but that doesn't necessarily mean he would go all out. suzuki's percentage on the other hand, is his power output, meaning using 100% would mean using up all of his energy, though it refreshes after a while because he has the charge bomb ability.
Serizawa is a good boy for real. And a perfect foil with Mob, so they were able to make a connection. And because Mob was kind and understanding, Serizawa was won over and that saved Reigen's life. And I think it can't be understated how valuable and helpful it is that Mob actually engages with everyone he meets in good faith. He honestly replies with what he thinks, but he also sincerely listens to other people and takes in what they have to say. It's a skill I'm sure he naturally had, but I'd like to think he learned it from Reigen, because Reigen's whole deal is sincerely listening to his clients' problems even if he doesn't believe the cause is supernatural.
My favorite part of this entire season: Reigen did NOT hesitate to shoot that gun. At all. He was truly 100% willing to end someone's life to protect Mob.
I love how the biggesy catalyst for Mob to truly release his powers is always in behalf of the people he cares about getting hurt. When he himself was punched he was fine, but threaten Reigen in front of him and all bets are off.
Toichiro Suzuki is his name, I think he's the best written villain who's whole thing is world domination. He was brought up in a society and lived a life that reinforced a might equals right ideology. He felt his proper path in life was to make a huge impact because he was gifted with so much might. I wonder if he could actually be happy if he "took" over the world, Mob saying that you will one day need someone to rely on makes me believe he wouldn't.
Serizawa and Toichiro(the boss) are the perfect antagonists for Mob, because they not only serve as a parallel to Mob and Regien's relationship, but they both represent possible futures for Mob. Serizawa represents Mob if he let his social anxiety and the weight of his powers get to him, a dull, sad existence where you're too afraid to leave the safety of your own home due the guilt and anxiety you're surrounded with, and Toichiro represents Mob if he let his powers get to him, if he became entitled because of his gift and had no one strong enough in his life to stop him and show him the right way, an empty, pointless life filled with nothing but yourself without ever even realizing all you've missed out on, both of these being concerns Mob's expressed about his future in previous episodes!!! This show is so perfect in literally every way imaginable.
Kinda SPOILER To the ending of s2!!! As someone who still didn't see s3, I'm very fascinated as to what it will bring, since second season felt like a legit ending.
The Boss’ name was shown when he first appeared. His age too. Also, reminder that Mob’s percentage is his emotion level, not power. On the other hand, The Boss’ output percentage is his power level.
8:44 I mean, it is an appropriate time for strong emotions. Whenever you get emotional, it is always an appropriate reaction. I think that's why I like your content so much.
The parallels between every season and it's characters is just perplexing as you keep on seeing more and more pop up. The most serious being Mogami and now, Bushy Brows.
dude. I saw a spider on my wall the size of my palm and it was THICK. Im arachaphobic so i had a 2 hour long panic attack. it was SO FAST. its still in my room
Mob is the protagonist because the story follows him and his growth. Reigen is the hero because he helps the child who needs him. Love this series so much.
I mean, I respect the idea of someone wanting to shake up the world for the better and standing in the open when they do it, but the delusion of the level of correct he assumed he was about EVERYTHING was problematic for any amount of power to be held by him.

The mid episode sketches also show the similarities between the mentor and student figures. Literally under the same umbrella.
Love the "I'll teach you how to use your powers" line mirror.
And the two meetings both happened three years ago!

I love that even Mogami is in the picture showing all the people important to Mob. He made him grow, made him appreciate what he had more.
Where is he in the collage?

15:01 What I love about Mob's extended circle of friends/people who've helped him grow he even includes Mogami.

The end of season 2 really made me wonder what season 3 will have. And boy was I surprised. There's no doubt season 3 was the best part of Mob Psycho.
Yeah. One is a genius.
Kinda SPOILER To the ending of s2!!!

@@mikonyx7712 Because it is. Consider Season 3 as a season long epilogue. Wrapping up stories for all the characters.
@@yellowcard8100 and then the Reigen spinoff is the epilogues epilogue? lol
I think the "I owe him one" was actually towards Mob
That moment with Reigen shooting the gun is one of my absolute favourites.

The season finale of season 2 and season 3 in my mind are true perfection
Cant wait to watch you react to season 3. Season 2 almost made me cry with episode 7, season 3 made me tear up twice.

Yesss Seriwawa episode babyyy
Hes such a sweet guy, i love the contrast he has with Mob :(
Respect to Sho for giving it his all even when he knew he couldn't win. What a great kid.
21:52 when he looks down and i decide its a tear coming from his relief that Reigen showed up and his fear of what could happen
Toichiro Suzuki, AKA THE BOSS/Claw's Boss has often been described as "The Anti-Reigan"
dude. I saw a spider on my wall the size of my palm and it was THICK. Im arachaphobic so i had a 2 hour long panic attack. it was SO FAST. its still in my room
it is the duty of the strong to protect those who do not share that same strength
Mob is the protagonist because the story follows him and his growth.
Reigen is the hero because he helps the child who needs him. Love this series so much.
reigan with the bliky
The Pres had it all wrong man. Instead of worrying about being the protagonist he just shoulda became the Eminence in Shadow. It’s much doper.
I mean, I respect the idea of someone wanting to shake up the world for the better and standing in the open when they do it, but the delusion of the level of correct he assumed he was about EVERYTHING was problematic for any amount of power to be held by him.
By how much this season is hitting you I can't wait for season 3, you will be bawling non stop
