I was lucky enough to go to Wintersun concert twice. When Sons of Winter and Stars starts, the whole audience vibe changes... what's already extreme gets extremely extreme. it is quite a religious experience, even for an atheist.

I discovered sowas while playing Skyrim and listening a folk metal playlist. That was two years ago and now I still play it everyday. That happens when the song is so good, destroys the walls of time.

I mean if you could show what VSTi's you used for erhu and that amazing cello in the first part, what different melodic lines are going at the same time, what kind of percussions are you using, for example for the main "rumble" on the background what goes on after 1:20? Or perhaps share midi tracks or something? I think this track is a exellent example of your ability to compose not only for the guitar and vocals, but for composing music for music itself. For me this (and SoWaS of course) are perhaps your greatest work, because nothing I've ever heard comes even close the magnificence of these tracks. Thank you for the most amazing music, never stop what you're doing!
Time album is almost wholly based on oriental melodies and incorporates a lot of oriental insteuments samples. That was Jari's inspiration back in the day.
Not to mention that little bit in the solo of death and the healing where he uses the pentatonic scale, im pretty sure, to make a very asian sounding section go into a very bluesy section.
Dear Jari, I have a question concerning Time 1.5: Why are there no more continuous transistions between WTFA and SOWAS and LOSAS and DAF/Time? Especially the end of When Time Fades Away feels strange now. Still one of my all-time favourite Albums tho :-)

Maybe you could make a video about your Plugins or about creating your orchestrations? You did some vids about recording your guitars and I think your orchestrations are as important as your riffs. :) You are awesome!

floriL3636 yeah, one of the reasons i love wintersun is because of the amazing composition and "the wall of sound" production.
He uses east-west, which fortunately has a pretty manageable license fee.
