I remember working on NIntendo Wii Titles in my first years of quality assurance about 15 years ago and publishers back in the days, at the very least, were creating different games for the lower-end consoles to make sure they remained enjoyable. Some times, it was a complete graphics overhaul to change the entire visual feel of the game, while others would change entire gameplay mechanics to make it unique. The trick was to hire studios that were specialized in the "lower-end" consoles so that they could make their own take of the "next-gen" versions.
I had the chance of working on the Ghostbusters titles that were released around 2010, and had a blast with the Wii / DS versions since they were different from the gloomy 360/ps3 version. The Wii was making an awesome use of the motion controls, and the 3ds was an action-rpg with interesting mechanics, was easy, but original at the very least. So many titles managed to do it back in the days. But now, publishers are skimming so much on any kind of spending that they want to release a single build accross all platforms without any regards to quality.
The more it goes, the closer we're getting to a second crash of the videogame industry. At the very leasts, we'll have the indie scene to take over while the general public gets angry and big studios for taking them for piggy banks. In my opinion, give it 10 years max and we might see a shift.

In several of the shots, I'm thinking they could cut back a bit on the background detail and give it to the characters. Making a game for a weak system like the Switch is all about being smart about where to make the graphical cuts, and it looks like they made cuts in all the wrong places. Definitely not a $70 game.
I remember being shocked that MK11 is on the Switch, so this is more hilarious than shocking to me
I dont know why people think that buying MK on the switch would perform the same as any other console/PC. Its like buying raisins and expecting grapes from it.
Why do pple even buy fighing games at launch? Just wait for the “Komplete Edition”
Triple A games, people. Even games that are released in the 90s still holds better than this. Sheesh.
I get that MK11 sold pretty well on the Switch, and that's why they did this, but man... This looks BAD. Like, $70 for THIS? Switch players deserve better. MK11's port wasn't the best, but not even that looked THIS bad. Jeez.
Surprisingly, I still don’t think it’s worse than Activision ported BO3 backwards onto old gen consoles lol
I know the graphics are shit but someone buying a switch game and comparing it to the graphics of an Xbox or PS is laughable. The market decides if the price is the correct one or not. If you're going to pay for a game at the same price as the more powerful consoles expecting it to be just as good, you should lose your money. We all know the Switch is a lot weaker, hardware-wise, so don't pay for it. Force them to lower the price through the power of your wallet. We all know the corporates at the gaming companies are going to try to cheat us. The devs may care about the customers but they don't set the price of the big AAA games. The only thing they respect is your purchasing power. Use it.
Bro people will complain about everything. If you bought it on the switch, you already know what to expect. And if you don’t like it, don’t buy it. No one is forcing anyone to buy a 70 dollar game on the switch 😅
The witcher 3 for switch costed like $70 when it first came out too for an older game. I think the switch MK1 cost correlates to the time it took to make MK1 work and run on switch like witcher 3
Reasons why handheld gaming PC's like the Steam Deck or Rog Ally exist, if you prefer triple A gaming with good graphics on the go. Either that or wait for the Switch 2 (if it's powerful enough).
Shit man, if the switch would be as powerful as the PS5 or series x, hell even a high-end PC, I'd buy it in an instant. But sadly I doubt it'll even reach last gen performance.
@@originalscreenname44 it'll most likely be imo simulator to the "New" 3DS where it's just slightly over clocked with a somewhat better Chip inside with probably 10 exclusives for it only
@@theramennoodler7950 If the Switch wants to reach parity with current gen, it would also have to cost as much as current gen and the people who buy Nintendo consoles would riot.
They could’ve done a completely different art design to compensate graphics on the game. Nintendo has their own style of graphics for many games. Maybe make it look cartoon like Zelda or something. Idk trying to keep the game in the same style and design as other obviously more powerful consoles is just a fantasy.
@@Khqra no it doesn’t but back in the day years ago they would make special versions of certain games for consoles and portables where they could the standard for said console and still perform without missing out on the story and gameplay elements.
I hate this trend of repackaging old games and selling them as “new”. It’s really disingenuous and it seems like they rather play on the consumers nostalgia than test the waters with something new.
I like those graphics by the way. Imagine what the Switch version graphics for Reagan Ridley, Kid Cosmic, Naofumi, Zero Two, and Elzabeth Renfield. At least they're keeping the 2D eyes and mouth on the characters. On the other hand, Tari, Gigachad, Erica Slaughter, William, Pepsiman, Spike, Zhongli, Omni-Man, Peacemaker, Homelander, Quan Chi, Takeda and even Ermac have the 3D models with the same eyes and mouth.
With great budget comes great responsibility
i'm not defending it since its 70 bucks but its kinda expected that a game with such a high-detail realistic art style wouldn't run well on switch. They should have just never released it for the console in the first place. They could have just waited for the switch pro which we know is coming now and made it a launch title for that...
Its like they used different character models for this.
But hey, on the bright side, new meme templates
That Mileena looks straight from Skibbidi Toilet, lmao $70 dollars for a subpar experience is insane.
The facial animations in this game are awesome, hilarious and fit right into the old action movie style they were going for, to remove that from the Switch really does harm the story mode, feel bad for people who are missing out on all that.
You buy a potato (w/ drifty Joycons)
You praise the potato
You pay for more potatoes
You get more potatoes (and mashed graphics)
Y U mad?
It will baffle me to the end of my life why they even bothered with that glorified phone to even port it lmao
Seventy. Dollars.
