    *holy mother of goodness...*
this short film left me speechless for half an hour - after it gave me
the most intense flashback since 1993.
26 years ago my fiancée, pregnant in sixth month, and my unborn son died
in an accident. caused by an overtired truck driver who failed to see a red
traffic light. all happened in front of my eyes because we were driving in
seperate cars. my son died immediately - my fiancée spoke gently and calmly
to me as i got to her car. and she smiled. a minute later she passed away.

I knew it...so sad... he had to live with the knowledge that his last moment with her he was still mad at her, never forgave her and didn’t speak to her. That alone reinforces the saying, “never stay angry or hold a grudge against the person you love or loved cause you don’t know when they will be gone. She said sorry to him, but he never spoke. Gosh, this was beautiful and well acted - and such an amazing concept. We all have a moment we want to go to...again.

So true... my own past is riddled with missed opportunities, not saying the things I should have or refraining from the ones that shouldn't've been said... Robust as life is, it is also fleeting and at any time could fly away just like that. If anybody is like me, they look at these things and want immense to have the ability to change it, but alas, we have to deal with the past well as possible and do our best to not repeat mistakes in the future.

Excellent. This man hates his life now, and will relive the moments he wants over and over again, even if it ages him faster and kills him. He will just do this again and again until he dies. He feels he has nothing else to live for, except for what which is gone. I can totally understand getting to that point, given the right experiences in life. Everyone is full of regrets. Some more than others. A procedure like this in real life would be wildly popular, regardless of risk.

The relationship YOU have with God is what is important...not what some church or clergyman TELLS you to do.     Seems like an allegory for heroin addiction. Good warning for any type of addiction. Just remembered some words from Joni Mitchell's song "The Circle Game";
"We can't go back, we can only look, behind from where we came, and go round and round and round in the circle game."
Only Eckart Tolle's appreciating whatever form the present moment takes can save us from being in bondage to the past (or worrying about the future).
"Live with no expectations; perceive without judging; love without attachment." and "Everything is sacred, but nothing matters." The present moment is all we have, appreciate it to the full. The past is gone, the future is a guess, coz when the future comes, it will come as a present moment.

gotcha. yeh a lot of people will critique a film based on "it's been done before" but like seriously, just because there's Star Wars doesn't mean we don't ever want to see anymore epic space drama type movies. Stuff that's great, give me more!

Some of the best films Iv'e seen and music Iv'e heard reminded me of other films, books and songs. The older you get the harder it is to find something new. It's because nothing is new or original, and everything, or everyone is building on some others work. Something totally original would not be comprehended by anyone. But that is fine : )

reminds me of another short, which I think I saw on dust as well. In it, several scientists found a machine to slow down time for them, so they can feel one best moment in their life for an extended time. problem was, they were so obsessed with finding the right moment to slow down time, some went on a lifelong journey to find their perfect moment and became obsessed with it

And this is the idea of the short movies. To be short. The whole story and everything important in a few minutes. Nothing more, nothing less. If they turn it into full, 1 - hour - and - more - movie, it will have too many unnecessary things. In fact, this short is better than some full movies. Let's stay that way. :)

Very well done! I feel like I can relate to this, though there isn't this sort of technology, I can re-live past moments of my life by reading my quite detailed journals that I wrote of things that happened. I have no idea how many times I've re-read some of the better moments, such as the first time my ex-girlfriend kissed me. Haven't read the more sorrowful moments, like when we split up and the frustrations leading up to such, nearly as frequently. Reading those past romantic moments is very comforting, very enjoyable, but I know it does me more harm than good. This sci-fi movie shows this same thing in a more blunt, tangible manner.

Hey, at least we know in the future commercials still have those cheesy faux doctors in white lab coats.
Also, more on the point of the video, memories aren't "memories" they're just recordings and every time we play them back our mind alters them ever so slightly until they're not how things really happened at all. That's why two people can remember events incredibly differently. So... whatever you're playing back isn't the actual memory, it's just whatever version of the recording you've ended up creating over time.
