Been a fan of Crown since The Fallout, mostly stopped listening when Dave left but the H E A V Y is pretty interesting. Doesn't sound like old CTE but still pretty good, different doesn't mean bad imo
@@heathstory9655 I just checked, I remembered he was looking at some solo project but it looks like he's singing for In Motive now, gonna give them a listen later
Yeah, they should probably get him a coach to help with his screams. His lows are definitely better than on Sudden Sky, but his mids/highs still sound like someone who's just learning. Kinda surprised they haven't had Andy scream more, but at the same time he's been stepping up the cleans so I guess that's the tradeoff.
@@Shinymold reminds me a lot of Caleb shomo during the end of attack attack/beginning of bear tooth era. It sounds good, but mixed with some coaching, his screams can become super brutal
It doesn’t have the CtE sound that made me a fan, but already being one it’s a nice heavy add to their discography. Think it would be amazing to party to on a tour if Hayden’s live vocals hold up.
Yep, I guess they got the idea around the same time as the Courtney feature. Screamed chorus First verse is a heavy breakdown Chorus Second verse is an even heavier breakdown Chorus again
Tbh this was a pretty decent track. Maybe it's just me but Haydens screams are little similar of those of Austin Carlile especially the mids and highs.
If they plan to keep going this direction they need to send their vocalist to a coach, he’s got the range just needs helps getting the perfection. Dope track, I hope they keep pushing this direction.
I’ve always loved this band. And never in a million years did I think they would do a song like this. Straight in ur face heavies, no cleans, the whole time lmaooo
I loved that Hayden was the king of this music video since it’s a heavy song. I got chill when Andy got the crown and sat at the thrown in the end. Symbolizing he will always be king 👑
Been listening to them since Limitless. CTE always keeps me hooked and, as expected, I'm DIGGING this altered sound! I love Andy's cleans but it is true that the clean-scream dynamic can get a tad stale if you let it. Plus I'm a sucker for an aesthetic and this album's style so far is just perfect. "The Empire is pissed" indeed! 😂
I'm real interested to see how they pull this off live. Like is Andy gonna just gonna hype everyone up, or swap roles with Hayden for a song and get on bass?
I think it'd be interesting if they got a new bassist to let Hayden focus fully on his vocals, like OM&M did. Maybe they could even bring back their old songwriter/fill-in vocalist Brendan Barone to be their bassist, although I guess he's taken distance from the band ever since they decided to stop working with him on this upcoming album.
Ever since Dave left I and alot peoples mostly stop list to them but after list to In Another Life feat. Courtney and this song that it seem they go back to their old root and the new screaming it good to hope they keep it up and they probably know that alot peoples stop list to them and that why they going back
@@melanniegomes6106 i think they mean the “deathcore” sound from CTE No cleans, no solos, no singalongs, just screams and distortion. I also completely agree that Lucky Us is a great song for us who enjoy heavier music
YOOOOOOOOOOOOO i went into this with the same knowledge as you Nik i was expecting some nice melody's and catchy phrases and then from 0-100% throughout the entire song just going harder and harder, like not that i mind but jeeez this aint the typical empire we know but i like it :D
@Hell Is Where You Make It I actually didn't even like them until their last album. But, I have become a fan of Resistance and will be diving into their other albums soon.
Same overall structure. Screaming chorus, breakdown, chorus, super heavy downtuned breakdown and chorus again, all with ominous electronic transitions in between.
Never been much of a fan, only listened to the singles w/ music videos. Really curious if the guitar player can do those screams live at that level, that’d be impressive
You're a legend Nik
This song is slightly heavier than Blurry.
This is the heaviest CTE in my opinion
@@DrewPwnage I say the 1st (maybe) consistent heavy song, but old CTE is heavvyy.
Shit yall both legends yo! Sounds like old school Crown but with a new flair, I love it

So this is what Johnny has been up too since taking satan out
Best comment yet
I understood that reference!

Do either of you know what band Dave went to? Or if he just got out of the industry period?
