- This 10-mile barrier island in Seaside Park is the state’s last large stretch of undeveloped coastline that continues to support the same mixture of animals and plants for thousands of years. (Video by Andre Malok and Chelsea LoCascio | NJ Advance Media for NJ.com)
Note: Flying drones in New Jersey state parks is illegal. NJ.com acquired special permissions from the state DEP.
I spent so much time there between 18-26 yrs of age. Back in the 90s. It feels like another lifetime now.
I lived 30 miles North of IBSP when growing up. Parents took us there weekends. After going there, the local beaches were just not good enough. From 14 until I got my driver's license, I actually rode my bike that 60 mile round trip, with whatever friends I could find crazy enough to go with me. By the end, I could get to the park gate in under 2 hours. Averaging 17 miles an hour on my best trip - traffic lights and all. The sides of the roads (especially Route 71) were littered with glass. Had to fix as many as 3 flat tires per trip. We got good at repairing them in under 10 mins.
I had only been here once. I loved it. I remember there's a spot where Porgy were just biting with my old fishing buddy. I need to go there before summer ends. :-)
Beautiful video of a beautiful place!
An oasis. Off-season the solitude is indescribable.
This series of short videos on various places in New Jersey is the only set of videos that I've seen that does the state justice. The actual tourism videos for NJ that I have seen are terrible.
New Jersey’s most not crowded beach fasho I never heard of it maybe that’s the case w the rest of Jersey 🥰
