- Cozy cottage with three cats and a dog. All relax or sleep to the sounds of the thunderstorm and crackling fire. The rain pattering against the windows, lightning illuminating the night, the deep rumble of thunder is a little scary and at the same time soothing.

My husband is dying of cancer, my little son and I face being left alone in the world, with no other family and no means. At the darkest moments I look at this snow, the fire and the window, listen to the soothing melodies and, just for a few fleeting moments, I can breath.

Nurse training centers often offer daycare. Find a group living situation by online search, call your town or city office & ask. When you get settled, please adopt a kitty. They add alot to tiny families. Lie by your husband..&. cherish the seconds. You are not alone. You have your beautiful son💖

BTW: I've used this video so many times to get to sleep, I've taken to naming the cats and dog: the white cat is Putt-Putt, his buddy is Dumbledore, the calico is Cheeto, and the dog is Oscar. I know, too much time on my hands, but when you're recovering from a major illness, you do tend to look for the small things, the things of comfort...the things of peace.

We used to have a white cat. This cat can’t seem to settle must be the rain and thunder and when it puts its head down it’s not long before it raises its head as if the cat in front just blew off 😂
