Steve, back in 2004, my buddy and I met you while fishing Sandy Hook. You gave me one of your peanut bunker flies made with SF Blend (I still have it BTW). I wouldn't expect you to remember, but just wanted you to know that I appreciate your contributions to fly tying, and the sport in general. This is a fantastic video (as are the others), and I learn so much from them. This is a difficult technique to master, but you present it very effectively. Thanks again Steve!

A really nice fly! I'm having a hard time a hard time casting large bulky flies right now I really would like to drop a few bucks on a salty spey or switch rod. Great demonstration!

Thx. It's tied on a 4/0 tiemco 911s - any large long shank hook will do. I use these for striped bass. Good luck with it.

This is really nice. I am into making flies that represend small fish and this one is great. What size is the hook that you are using on this fly? What species of fish is this fly most useful for?

Forgot to mention, I caught a 33" Snook in Everglades City using the semper hollow fleye. Question, where do you get your hackle from? Local bait shop, or online? Can't seem to find hackle quite as nice as what you are using here.
