Golden Mount is not too far from the Grand Palace. I’ve walked it before, but you are better off taking a taxi. Just before you get to Golden Mount, there a famous street food vendor, the only Michellen Starred street vendor called Jay Fai. She has been featured on Netflix food shows before. She’s famous for Kai Jia-ow Poo, which is Thai omelet with crab.
I'm glad you both enjoy our city and wish you have nice days here. During pandemic, Bangkok is not that bustling because less tourists. It's such a perfect time for chilling around. If you wanna see different Bangkok, please try visiting Bangkok again whenever after the pandemic, then you will see the super crowded city and lively sleepless nightlife.
Bangkok is not loud now because during covid we have no energy left to be loud. LOL. 🤣 Ps. Your visit Thailand now during covid era is very smart move. It seems like every place belongs to you.
Yeah, I had been to Bangkok many times and had never gone to the Grand Palace because of the crowds...so I went in July of 2020 when Thailand had been shut down for three months and no one was allowed in or out other than ex-pats, and it was absolutely amazing to see the Grand Palace with no one there. I felt very priviledged and it actually was a moving experience, to see something so beautiful on a large scale. I just marveled at it many times in awe.
Fan from Thailand: To visit Thailand you could not miss the grand palace ,must must. Trust me it’s worth for that money. Because we use a lot of money for maintenance the temple and all painting..
A tiny guide for you guys during travelling in Thailand, when you see the combined letters like *th, ph and kh* just pronounce them like *t, p and k* respectively (Because in Thai we have 44 letters so we have to distinguish them following the roman letters by adding *h* (like the word Thailand, it’s pronounced Tai-land, not Thigh-land) (and the word Wat Pho should be *Wat-Po*) Watched your vlog for the first time and already love it! Hope you enjoy Thailand.
Smart to question the 500 baht "tour" ferry thing. However, 500 baht to wander around the Grand Palace when there are so few tourists is a real bargain. You should return. It's the thing to see in all of Thailand. 😆
Just subscribed. Love you guys traveling trips. I am going to Thailand in March in the coming year. Watching these videos makes me feel so excited about my trip
Cool video I went to Bangkok twice and on my second visit Icon Siam was being built so I didn't get to see its full glory. Wat Arun, Wat Pho and Grand Palace were amazing. The Chao Praya River Cruise (day and night) were fantastic but go down pass the Icon Siam place and you will reach a place called Asiatique Riverfront. For nice relaxation, head to Lumphini Park. For great views of the city, go to top of Baiyoke Tower or King Power MahaNakhon. Many people will say visit Khaosan Road but I've avoided it both times when I was in BKK
Thanks for all the tips! We kept trying to plan a day for Lumphini Park, but never made it. We'll be back in Bangkok soon to try out some of the recommendations.
The public ferries and canal boats are awesome in Bangkok. I've ridden the Orange ferry from Sathorn Pier many times. One of those times I rode it all the way to the end, which took almost an hour, while I showed my friends on FB the trip. Bangkok is an amazing place, wait until you find Lumphini Park, Chatuchak Market, and the list is endless of places to go in that city! I would recommend Amphawa Night floating market, and not taking the conventional way to get there, but making a day of it, instead. The route I was advised to take, by a Thai friend of mine, takes you on two hour long train rides and a short ferry ride. Catching the public train that runs from Wongwian Yai to Maha Chai, then crossing the river, taking the train up to the famous Umbrella Market in Mae Klong train station...this whole experience would be an entire day trip. The Amphaway Night floating market, though is only on Fri., Sat., and Sunday nights I believe. Great video you two! When I was there in Bangkok during the start of covid back at the beginning of covid there was literally no one there at the Grand Palace with me, other than myself and maybe a handful of people near me at any given time. Sometimes I was entirely by myself with the confines of those beautiful grounds. Same with Wat Arun. I stupidly didn't get many photos of Wat Arun literally empty, but I did get some very nice photos around the Grand Palace. Just imagine, the Grand Palace almost entirely deserted!
Thanks for all the tips! Making a day trip to the Amphawa floating market sounds like such a fun activity. We are putting that on our list. One week in Bangkok is nearly not enough. People's recommendations are just flooding in and we cannot wait to go back and see so much more of Bangkok! Thanks for your comment 👍
kinda wierd (and nostalgic) but the way you guys share your experience (from sights to food) is like how i did experience bangkok back in 2005.. i can really see and feel that it is your first time in bangkok 🤣🤣🤣 consider yourselves lucky you still get to travel in these days. hope to see more vlogs!
Just north of Icon Siam, passed the Millennia hotel, there is an actual local street market. Worth checking out for cheap eats. It's called Klongsan Plaza.
@@DennyandNikki when my wife and I were staying at the Millenia Hilton, we decide not to pay for the $10 buffet and get breakfast at the market for $3 for both of us! LOL. Have fun!!

Succes😀

I visited Wat Arun a few weeks ago. I was surprised when the local friend I was with told me not to pay the entry fee. (Dual pricing is quite contentious and some Thais find it quite embarrassing.)
In cases where Thais don't get in free, just cheaper, some places write that price in Thai script, rather than numbers, so that foreigners can't read it.
Hi guys, welcome to Bangkok, my hometown. From Nana you can visit many shopping malls such as Terminal 21 (BTS Asoke) which has a very famous food court. Because there are many cheap local restaurants to choose from. It is also close to Emquatier & Emporium (BTS Phrom Phong), Siam Paragon, Central World, Gaysorn Village, Central Embassy (BTS Siam/Chidlom), which is a large department store. you have traveled But if you want beautiful clothes at a cheap price, you should go to Platinum Mall, which is not far from BTS Chidlom. . The other places of interest is The Erawan Museum is well known for its giant three-headed elephant art sculpture as exterior. This is the first and biggest hand-carved sculpture in the world. (BTS Chang Erawan), Bangkok. Art and Cultural Center (BACC) (BTS National Stadium). and Wat Pak Nam Phasi Charoen, with its 69-meter-tall golden Buddha statue and a beautiful chedi where you can admire the magnificent art above (BTS Talad Plu/Wuttakard). . To save money, you may purchase a day ticket for BTS which can go anywhere in 1 day.

Hi there 😊 I'm so interested on knowing you're background stories guys. Not of y business I know, but Nikki grew up in Europe? Where, and Denny, what about you?
You can bring your drone into Thailand but you do have to register your drone before you can fly. It can be a tedious process, but it is definitely doable!
How do you spell the name of the neighborhood you stayed in? Would you recommend it for monthly stays? So far I've heard good things about Sukhumvit (Near On Nut train station).
