Very interesting series! For Tannenberg i do remember a grenadier role, that had only a shovel and grenades... As for Isonzo, maybe try to pick slow/old guns? The one-shots of each faction are something to go with alongside maybe an old revoler in the marksman class.
I think it’s important to note that the SMLE obrez was only given to sappers. Which were soldiers who would dig tunnels underneath the trenches to set up mines and explosives. The British didn’t have enough Webley revolvers and they needed something with a short barrel in the compact tunnels. So they cut down the rifles to issue to the sappers and weren’t meant to be used by regular rifleman at any kind of range.
