    Jets w/o Rodgers will once again be relying on their defense, which no doubt is very good. But let's not lose sight of the fact that in order to win the Jets needed 3 INTs, a fumble and a punt return in OT

      Fair but they were limiting hall, didn't matter too much but once he's at a full snap count the offense could be a lil better and maybe when they game plan with Wilson it could be better but yeah rough way to start the season for the jets. Probably gonna be a long season unfortunately.

    • @billballoo7881

      @@longjonsilver1307 Well sure, Hall with a full workload will be more productive. Just stating that they won with 4 turnovers and there's a reason that they went out and got Rodgers. The Jets can certainly win 10+ utilizing the run game and their defense. Much like the Ravens of 2000.

    I remember in 1994 The Kansas City Chiefs were making sure that Joe Montana would have the best chance to finish the season, so they installed a grass field to give him as much protection is possible. Seems like a good idea with an old QB or if your just try to keep your players from injuries in general.

    The closest I've seen to this situation was another Jets team. In 1998 the Jets get to the AFC Championship game with a 35 year old Vinny Testaverde who went from bust to Pro Bowl QB. They were a big favorite going into 1999 for the Super Bowl. In the 1st half of game 1 at home Vinny lands wrongs a tears his ACL. Out for the year. He comes back at 37 and is never the same. He went from throwing 29 TDs and 7 Ints in 1998 to throwing 21 TDs and 25 Ints in 2000. He turned back into the same old Vinny. In an instant it was over for the Jets

    There is an orthopedic Dr that breaks down video an potential sports injuries on UA-cam, and right after the happened he broke down the film and the potential injuries. It's interesting because knowing what we know about Rodger's personality, and how he was so in on this mission, I can't imagine he doesn't want to rehab and prove everyone wrong next year. The way sports has a tendency to write incredible stories, there's a side of me that sees him winning the Super Bowl next year and retiring a New York legend. The logical part of my brain says, slow down Jackie Daytona, he'll be 41. And even if he was 21, it's the New York Jets. RIP Aaron Rodgers Jets career 9/11/2023-9/11/2023

      Don't know if the Rams' domination of the Seahawks in their opener was a one-off (we'll find out sunday against the niners), but McVay/Stafford seemed to have an answer to the old qb dilemma. Last year the 35-yr old Stafford was running for his life behind a hurt/patchwork o-line, eventually sitting out the last part of the season with his injuries. On sunday Stafford was taking two and three step drops, if the wr wasn't open, just get rid of it, fight another down, saving himself a lot of abuse. Something Josh Allen might learn and what Tom Brady perfected in Tampa.

    Honestly, that's a bigger question
    How could the Bills lose that game with Rodgers out? The team, the crowd, was deflated, and you couldn't put the team away. You have to look at the Buffalo QB but the coaches as well. Allen appears to have regressed since Daboll left. It looks like he sometimes plays "hero ball," but that doesn't win in today's NFL. Coaches need to realize that and guide him better

  • @scooter5940
    @scooter5940 Рік тому

    Too many people blaming the offensive line for this - this sack was not on them. It’s designed as a quick three-step drop, ball goes out quick to the left. The RB went to the flat and cleared out the LB, and the left tackle cut-blocked Floyd to get his hands down and open a throwing lane. The slant appeared wide open. I don’t know what Rodgers saw, so I won’t second guess why he didn’t throw it. But, he has to know Floyd is coming if he pulls the ball down, because of the blocking scheme - that was his decision and you can’t expect a lineman to “hold” a cut block. That’s not what it is for. As Packers’ fans know, this is kinda what Aaron Rodgers game has become - often passing up shorter routes and extending plays. Sometimes it works with a huge play, sometimes it doesn’t, but it gets riskier as one gets older.

    This shows that there is hope for Zach Wilson. If Rodgers hadn't come to the team, he would still be acting like a Carson Wentz. Both acted like entitled, petulant, boys who had their favorite toy taken away for misbehavior. Rodgers came in, and while Wilson was ready to fight him the entire time, Rodgers took him under his wing. He basically told him, "this is still your team, so stop and listen, and I'll make you better. When I'm gone when my contract is up, then you come in and take over where I left off." Zach took that to heart, and he actually got much better. So, now that Rodgers is hurt, if he continues mentoring Zach, I believe that the Jets will be in for a deep playoff run. Rodgers mentoring is what Zach Wilson needed because he's got all of the talent, but now he's got focus, and that will make him the franchise QB for the Jets. Now he knows he can come from behind, deal with some adversity, and still win.
