This might be the best platonic relationship in this entire series.
It will not develop much as the series will progress though even after Rimuru gives Ifrit a body. Charys will come and go but doesn't actually become a central character.
But maybe anime will bring some changes and not follow light novel blindly.

@@AakashSharma-le8pmthis show already does very good job at juggling a Huge size of cast. Way better than any mainstream shoenen. You can't really expect a secondary side character to get more attention than what he already gets.

The fact Ifrit is sent into that realm that Veldora was in, and not put to rest like Shizu or the 1st Geld tells us he can still be brought back to the real world like Veldora just was. Like for all we know, Rimuru will make another clone body for Ifrit to inhabite.

For those who knows Veldora from the past, this showed Veldora’s first sign of growth after his meeting with Rimuru.
Although it will come in 3rd season probably but Im still waiting for the duo of Ramiris and Veldora to wreck havoc in Rimuru's life by their experiments.
Still one of the best Light Novels i have ever read till now. The ending was satisfying and also the real reason why Diablo joined Rimuru.

Can someone explain to me how does rimuru keep ifrit from taking control over him? Is it just cuz rimuru is way stronger than ifrit then that would mean that ifrit is syronget than shizue.
shizue was possessed by ifrit and they share conscious space where one's will can overwhelm the other. Rimuru on the other hand devoured ifrit and it literally became food.
Ifritz posseded Shizue. But he didn't possess Rimuru, he has been eaten by rimuru. Whose stomach seem to act like a dimensional inventory.
