[very minor manga spoilers ahead! It doesn’t really ruin anything but just to let people know]
Yoriichi was the best demon slayer to exist and the person to create the first breath ever, sun breathing. Yoriichi and one of Tanjiro’s ancestors where close friends, and Yoriichi taught Tanjiro’s ancestor Sun Breathing and passed his earrings on to him (the hannafuda earrings or however they’re spelt). Tanjiro’s ancestor promised to Yoriichi to pass on sun breathing and his earrings, so that’s how Tanjiro ended up with the earrings and how he knew sun breathing. They called it the (insert name of dance) as an easier way to pass it down (which was in the form of said dance).
Also Tanjiro is NOT Yoriichi’s descendent. He might be Yoriichi’s reincarnation, but I’m not sure
FYI Yoriichi is from the Sengoku era and Tanjiro is from the Taisho era I think. I beleive they’re about 300 years apart? I’m not sure. Hope this helped to clear up some things!

I know for a fact he has a twin brother name (his name) but they lived differently there eating there whole life is different there eating there living their lifestyle and many more but his brother doesn't have the same brith mark there's not a lot to know about tanjiro father so we would have the ask the creator himself to answer this and say "No Yoriichi is not tanjiro father" I know you said that im not sure but if you think your sure and just saying that I just wanted to say this.
@@landen7966 It is said directly in the manga.However Muichiro (Mist Hashira) is a descendant (blood-related) to Yorrichi's brother which is now Uppermoon 1 (again said in the manga).Also later on most Hashiras get Tanjiro's mark which is called the demon slayer mark.Alot of Yorrichi's demon slayer friends had it too but it exchanges lifespan for power.

He Actually Wasn't, He Just Mastered The Hinokami Kagura Dance Along With The Sun Breathing, He Also Has Yorichii's Earrings. Read The Manga All The Way Through, Tanjiro's Father Is An Ancestor Of A Friend Of Yorichii, So They Are Not Related In Anyway
