I am confused as to who is who on 1923. I am in episode 4 and I can’t figure it out the way the show is written- no disrespect t the writers. Who is Jack Dutton to Jacob? Is he a nephew or great nephew? Was Emma Jacks mother? What I do have figured out is Jacob is John (Tim Macgraw) brother. Spencer is Elsa youngest brother- only brother now- because John was killed and Rmma grieved herself to death. Does Jacob and Cara have their own children? And who are they? I don’t mind spoiler alerts, I am trying to figure this out.
While the story telling and acting are first class there is a mixing of history and some factual errors in the supposed new technology of just post WWI. The last range wars between cattlemen and sheepherders were at least 10 years before the supposed time of the story. And the worst of them were in Wyoming rather than Montana. The refrigerator shown by the salesman was from at least 20 years in the future. And appliances that would have been directed to farms/ranches at that time would have been non-electric. Washing machine with a little gas engine (I have seen them, my grandmother had one) and the refrigerator gas/propane powered, like the ones used in RVs currently, except less elegant and without freezing compartments. I doubt a Thompson machine gun was ever used in a range war:)
@@thoekman1 There actually werent range wars in Montana at that time?? Damn whats next? I bet you are gonna tell me that Kevin Costner actually isnt the governor of Montana!
@@lhopeItSnowsTomorrow I know, I know its all fiction. They are at least somewhat historically at least approximate with their context in other respects. Having a long personal history in Montana, I do find some things a little upsetting when they take liberties with geography and history. And I expect most viewers are so young they don't see the infiltration of more modern stuff being portrayed when it would not be happening. For example, electric utilities didn't really start to happen in places like Montana till the mid 30s with the REA of the the New Deal. I know nit-picking:) Just a reminder that it is really mostly fiction. I find movies that deal with historic issues and stories, that also are scrupulously careful about maintaining accurate historical context are especially pleasing.
Taylor Sheridan is awesome for showing just how bad Native Americans are treated whether it’s back then or now. He doesn’t white wash the brutality they face like those Christian boarding schools.
@@huntersmillie00 yup I saw that too. Had no idea missing Native American women don't have a national database like other races of American women. That movie is sadder than all of the Yellowstone shows combined.
I was raised in that Catholic cult back in the 60's. This fictional story is based on historical truth, I've read an Indian child graveyard has been discovered in Canada outside a old Catholic cult school? I remember how much I disliked all the nuns in my little town.

Everything they said it right about Montana it's wild and beautiful but if you're from the city please don't come here can ruin the beauty of the small towns they are already doing that didn't know like five cities in Montana the only reason we go to those places is shop otherwise small-town people that live in Montana without be going to those cities in Montana
Sorry but Alexandra’s stilted supposed to be upper class English accent is dreadful and I say that as a Brit. The actress is trying so hard and not succeeding, consequently her words lose all meaning. Not sure who the accent coaches are on this series but they’ve failed dismally with this character. Why not get a British actress rather than an American who can’t master the accent. It ruins all her scenes for me.
If you look at her effort at the accent objectively, Julia definitely has talent in the accent area. I don't disagree however that the accent is over-the-top posh.
@@diablocraft6172 Yes and the scene where she says "You don't see the romance in that?" -- leans forward and stares at him like a puppy was endearing. Also the scene where she looks at him driving away was touching -- she wanted to go with him so desperately.
Season 1 was a bunch of pointless filler they didn't need to stretch this for 2 seasons they could of cut out a ton of filler and maybe made the season a little longer and finished it in 1 season. Tons of romance stuff that doesn't really do much for the plot it's very obvious filler. The ending of the season was laughably bad it almost makes me not want to watch season 2 but I do enjoy the yellowstone universe and I have a feeling season 2 will be better since season one was just stalling for more money basically. 1883 was a much better spin off and it didn't need to stretch it for two seasons. It's become obvious that this whole yellowstone universe is getting stretched too thin even the main show is starting to dip in quality the first half of season 5 was pretty much filler much like 1923. They keep talking about more and more spin off but it's not going to work at the rate this show is going I think they need to slow down a little.

@@peterlenham3180 thank you lol people fail to understand this

If there was ever a reason to despise the treacherous nature of the Catholic Church...this shows it. Jesus would've abolished all of these witches.
If Spencer and Alex knew their offsprings will turn out to be Beth they’d never gone back to Montana.
I have family connections to Montana, and while there is a town of Dutton, it is nowhere near Yellowstone Park:)
Watch Sheridan's Wind River, heartbreaking story about the Native American life on reservation.
I need a Alex!!!!
Sadly, many Kerala's nuns and priests still practice the kind of asking questions to students.
I can see paramount + loosing more subscribers with yet again another let down of keeping up with episodes . Having to wait till Feb 5th is stupidity at its best . Seen the same stupidity with episode 10 of Tulsa king ending at episode 9 leaving everyone expecting more , then you have yellow stone just up and went on holiday , not sure what is going on but it’s not smart to just drop a show once someone commits to the show just means any other seasons or spin offs will not get the same views.
You need to understand that later episodes need post production time. Thats why you cant watch them yet because they're not ready.
@@peterlenham3180 then they shouldn’t start the season
@@jaisrobins1545 Yes I agree they should all be finished before being shown. I don't know why they don't do it this way.
Verden good
Nuns in convents become nuts
nuns and priest (some if not most), the movie show or reveals how cruel they are before and till now!
Is the Native American girl the same actress from Curb Your Enthusiasm!? Holy 💩 she lost a lot of weight, she's unrecognizable!!!
Hard to believe alex and beth are neither speaking their native accents.
Gostaria de assistir legendo
whose the kayce of this season
Damn. Blondie definitely belongs to the streets.
I DIDN'T EXPECT A NUN TO GET PUNCHED MULTIPLE TIMES IN THE FACE 😳
She deserved all of it. The nun is easily one easy character to hate, especially after everything we now know about those boarding schools.
But it was satisfying to watch
and oh lord I enjoyed it so much
Everything they said it right about Montana it's wild and beautiful but if you're from the city please don't come here can ruin the beauty of the small towns they are already doing that didn't know like five cities in Montana the only reason we go to those places is shop otherwise small-town people that live in Montana without be going to those cities in Montana
Yeah I'm done. Not about to indulge a show that puts "revenge fantasy" and gotcha moments at the top of its priority list.
@@EzekielPrellus You're kidding. Her accent is terrible.
@@diablocraft6172 Are you feeling alright dear? Have you forgotten to take your medication?
What a complete load of bollocks! 😂😂😂
The Catholic Church has a lot to apologize for...to this very day!!!
They treated the Native Americans like animals.
Japan treated their early 20th century colonies much much worse, in Korea, China, Philippines, Burma, Okinawa.
That is a weird British accent.
They keep talking about more and more spin off but it's not going to work at the rate this show is going I think they need to slow down a little.
how did two graannys get away from a fuckin tommy gun??
The bad guy in hollywood still always and forever the blond german specimen guy .... Shame on you ....
