From experience tearing things apart...I have learned to lay boards with nails with the nail points facing down. Nobody intentionally steps on a nail but all it takes is a slight stumble or not paying attention to get a long rusty nail in the bottom of your foot and maybe even out the top. Even if you are up to date on tetanus shots, a nail in your foot can make life miserable for about a week until it heals. Can't wait to start seeing some of the finished furniture and cabinets!
Kevin, I was raised by a single mom, and was a very awkward child for various reasons. Most of the other kids preferred to bully me, and the adults tried the wrong things to connect with me. Why should I care about sports when the people who do are the ones beating the tar out of me? So I never really had anyone to teach me all of the things that I wanted to learn. I tried to take shop in school to learn, but had to drop out when a guy broke two of my ribs. I've said a few things before, but I just wanted you to know how much your channel means to me. Thanks to people like yourself, Essential Craftsman, and Primitive Technology, I'm finally starting to get an idea about so many things that I always wondered about. I'm finally starting to learn about the things that I always wanted to, but never had a chance to. I'm 40, and just now feel like I'm starting to become a man, in no small part because of people like you. Thank you so much for what you do and the time that you devote to sharing these things with us.
dagoonite know one would bully me or anyone around me but they would make fun of me because I couldn't read I felt that god gave me something more my hands so my hands made up for my reading skills I can fix almost anything or build anything so I have been blessed not all my videos are perfect or right but it works for me so if you need a video you let me know and i will do my best for you don't forget fix it is broke you can't break it again so try to fix it Thank you for watching and Merry Christmas to you and your family.
I grew up in a bad situation as well. I finally had enough and stopped taking crap from ANYONE. That opened a whole other can of worms though. Years later I have settled down and have a pretty normal life. I still don't feel like I fit in most times and I still feel more like a young adult than an actual adult. I am glad that you and I found a way to get through the struggles rather than taking the easy way out. Congratulations you are a winner. Keep your head up and be good to people if they will let you. Sometimes you have to keep being good to hateful people for a long time before they change their attitude towards you, but they are the ones that are the most rewarding when they do.
I'm sure that works fine. I would suggest that it might work even better if the re-bar was "below" the flat bar. It would give you more leverage I believe especially when it's being used on pallets like the one you just did where you are prying against the 2X4 instead of the next cross board.
I disagree, I have made the pallet buster and can see how perfect the position of the round bar is when using it, anywhere else and it would be in the wrong place.
Great video. I’m going to have to build one of these. We throw away so many pallets on the jobs I work on. When we built one of the steel mills some of the machines came on pallets that had 6x6 and 2x6. My buddy salvaged a lot of them and had enough wood to build a 3 room hunting cabin. Unfortunately 75% of the pallets went to the landfill.
kevin your video are very interesting, do you think if I gave you a send you some specifications can you do a pry bar specially to be used in the roofing industry specially to removed concrete or clay tiles without breaking them.
I like your design, hey, would it help with weight and cost to shorten the pipe to about 9 inches and the rest of the handle could be a hardwood insert, like hickory? Really, only the business end needs to be metal, right? The handle could then be different lengths, to suit people of different heights.
Hey Kevin, came your way from the Recommend list. I use pallets for just about everything. Have to give this a try. I added my $$upport & could use yours as well. Thank you, Joe Z.
Great video nice build think I’ll be making this one thanks for the great videos all year merry Christmas and a happy new year to you and your family 👍🎉
Great job ! I love it and am making one. Wondering if the bottom was a little more bent up if the would help you to not bend over so much while prying. Not exactly like an L but more hat yours - maybe somewhere in between. Just a thought.
Nice, simple but quality build.... Thanks for posting! Subscribed! Also, if you really want to ruin the ears of headphone users even more, you could tape the microphone right to the grinder. 😉 I'll have to proactively remember to keep my volume down on DIY channels from now on. 😁
@@Robinson-Homestead Thanks, Kevin! I ended up building one just like your red one here AND I bought a Duckbill Deck Wrecker... and after using both tools, I prefer your design as it does less damage to the pallet boards.

I made it and I am astounded how well it works, previously would take me 2 hours to dismantle a pallet, now it takes me 10min, thank you kindly

Using this as a guide for mine! I want to build my smoker and some other things around the farm with pallet wood, so this will be perfect!
It will work great for you.
I have big and heavy pallets. Last one is simplest and works well TKS ( Finland)
It works great.
Thanks for the design. It's awesome!
real nice build
Thanks unclefrank.
Very nice can you make me one?
Thanks Lance but it would cost a lot for shipping it is pretty heavy.

You would have to try it can't hurt Lisa thanks for watching.
Sure seems to damage a lot of boards with this tool. I guess that's okay if someone just wants firewood, which I do on occasion.
