You forgot MIG-21. No other plane was in use for 50 years as he is. He is still in service in Croatia, with last missions carried in 1995, during Croat-Serb war. Last squadron awaits to be retired next year, being replaced with Rafale.
The most badass looking Russian plane was Suhoj Su-47 Berkut, but never entered in service
India still uses Mig-21 bison.

Su 34 is something else. This aircraft is truly a fighter and bomber.
Some errors here... The Su-24 Fencer is not being replaced by the Su-35 Super Flanker, it is being replaced by the Su-34 Fullback. Also, the MiG-35 Super Fulcrum is an upgrade of the MiG-29 Fulcrum. The MiG-31 Foxhound is itself the successor to the MiG-25 Foxbat. The three main development lineages of Russian fighters are the Fox Line of Long-Range All-Weather Interceptors (MiG-25/31/41), the Flanker Line of Heavy Air Superiority and Strike Fighters(Su-27/33/34/35/37) and the Fulcrum Line of Light Multirole Fighters (MiG-29/35).

@@toptensviewerschoice5204 its not bad its just not as practical as everything else they got. It cant carry all that much and doesnt have massive range either, where it is competitive is speed and ceiling but who is flying interceptor missions these days.

sorry, but first real Test of SU-34 was in 2008 against Georgia when it took out a powerful BUK anti aircraft missile system. it already took out some russian aircrafts but SU 34 powerful jammer made it undetectable, hence the success.

The Mig-35 has a completely different role to the Mig-31. Its not an upgrade to it.

You are confusing the export version of Su27, which had an index of 35 in the foreign market. Modern Su35 has an index of 35C. He has other engines, unlike the Su27, as well as new avionics.

In the air, it would usually be very cold, so pilots would usually wear thermal suits to keep them warm.
Yes ,well the F-14 did. Worked on those systems, took the hot air off the engines, mixed with cool air, more to it than that b,you get the ideal of it.

@@michaelchristensen6884 seeing as 'cold'is a just a word for lack of heat, you cant exactly 'create cooling'. You can remove heat by changing a liquid to a gas so I guess that technically is rapid expansion

I wonder why you use the full name, the like of Sukhoi, Tupolev, Antonov ? We only use the shortened names: Su, Tu, An, MiG (Mikoyan and Gurevich)
Their biggest problem is not allowing the pilots to fly independently. Central control has always limited their combat ability, even though they have amazing airplanes.

How can you put the MiG-29 above the Su-27??? The MiG-29 was literally designed/built as a cheaper more mass producible alternative to the more capable Su-27 (which was the last non-US fighter to be the best in the world at the time of its introduction).

I dont know as much about Russian jets as I do for USA jets, but one thing I know for sure is the Su-57 is the sexiest looking aircraft i've ever seen
I love the duck SU 34 , multi roll aircraft fighter and bomber, I like the look of the Russian jets, very movable in their aerobatics, I think to many are to quick to put them down when they are one of the worlds leading jets in aeronautics.

Ukraine did not retire their SU-27's. Out of the 67-70 (depending on the source) fighters they have inherited from the USSR, around 34 are in service and around 30 have been modernized to specifications SU-27P/P1M, SU-27S/S1M after the start of the Donbass war

No, the video is about fighter jets not one off experimental tech demonstrators. The Su-37 was just a Su-27 with experimental engines, it was essentially a one off testbed used to test things intended for the Su-35 (which despite the lower number is a more modern/advanced plane). The Su-47 was again a one off testbed and technology demonstrator. Neither aircraft ever became combat capable.
The Terminator and the Berkut were turned into test platforms because of lack of funding.
Those were just technology demonstrations and weren't actually used so their combat capability is not and will never be known

They all look like they have been developed by using the same basic designs. Not a negative criticism though as they all certainly look the business and are clearly top notch fighter jets

We are in 2022 and still talking about Soviet Union which had collapsed more than 30 years ago. In aeronautics, the technologies evolved change every year or less. Russia has developed its own aeronautics industry platforms and is actually very competitive with its 4th an 5th generations jet fighters.
