Missing your videos! looking forward to the next upload.
I hope the winter floods didn't hit you too hard. Would love to see an update of your homestead, very inspiring..
Moreno, it has been a while since your last video. Just wanted to say that I hope all is well for you and your family. We look forward to seeing the progress on your homestead.
Hoping we can see another development in your homestead
I'm worried - you have not published anything for a while
I miss your videos! Waiting for the progress of your farm!
Hard back breaking work. But very rewarding! A bit more rewarding then juggling bits around in a computer, what most of us do in some way :-)
Looking good!
Beautiful. Hard work. Great times. Strong family.
This will be a paradise in a couple of years awesome!
Dear Dutch farmer and family, any news about your project???we continue learning a lot from you! thank you! You have all our respect and love from Athens,Greece.
I hope you upload soon. And excited To see progress in your land
That drone shot was sick👌🏽🔥🔥
Its incredible how much just 2 people can accomplish.
We love you both and your little child ,happy life and very simple ,you are our inspiration , 🎉❤😊❤❤❤❤❤
Amazing I do hope you keep making videos so we can see your project step by step.
That’s back breaking work. I did maybe a fourth of that-it took the entire spring and summer. It was hard work! The moving of those rocks and gravel alone is a back breaking proposition.
Moreno, you are a visionary and an artist. Your work ethic is second to none and you are creating something that will last for generations to come. Keep up the great work and thanks for taking us along on the journey. You have forever changed the paradigm of your family and how you steward the earth and your time on it.
we laid cardboard over a grass lawn, then 5 inches of fine compost, then fresh chipped wood chips, about 7 inches. then waited one whole yr. that soil is so rich and fertile now, with every kind of mushroom's in it. i never tilled it just killed weeds with the layers and waited. this yr we will plant in it, and the fruit trees are doing fantastic. your garden looks wonderful. it reminds me when we were that young building rock walls, gardens, planting big trees, work with no effort. the body is an amazing machine when its young.
YOUR SO BLESSED TO BE WHERE YOU ARE WITH WHAT YOU HAVE!
It looks simply amazing
Hope you are doing well.
Are you going to make videos in the furute?
I am very excited to see how the food forrest looks by now
So nice to see your little corner of paradise take shape ! Looking forward to see it develop forever more 😀
Enjoyed watching your family members participate on the garden! It shows everyone can enjoy and learn at the same time... my father gathered his 5 boys together to do the same, 60 years ago.
Yes, a beautiful garden.
Have a good weekend.
What a creative way to create beautiful garden. And to have all family doing it together is creating a precious memory. Always loved to see even your pet are eager to participate.
New video please...am just so curious to see the progress. I get inspired.
You and your family are amazing people! I love a clean and beautiful garden like yours. Thank you for sharing your journey with us! Be well and stay safe!
Brother
You are really inspiring many. I bought 2 squares (50 acres or about 20 hectares) of agriculture land in 2017 as being a farmer has always remained my second passion (first passion is my current job). But was afraid of cultivating it myself and shifting from urban life to ruler area (country side). I show your videos to my complete family and they are now so motivated for a simple and pure life as a farmer.
Prayers for your success
👍👌
Waiting for a new video 😍 hopefully soon… meanwhile watching the old ones again
You are talented to work with nature in harmony. Always a great inspiration.
Miss hearing from you guys. ❤
Great job as always !! I always like your videos. Really liked hearing your children calling for Mama in the background reminded me of calling for my mama in the garden
Hey! I'm Portuguese, I know how tricky the weather could be, so I'll just say one word: Amazing!
Continue the good work, it's lovely to watch!
Até já!
Tiago
God bless you and your family, your living a life that most people quietly dream of. It is inspiration to all of us who have not yet started the journey.
We're huge fans of your channel. We watch all of your content and frankly we miss you. We wonder how you are adjusting to Central Portugal. Would you recommend the location? There's no market for high priced market garden crops, correct? Have you decided to go with CBD? Yes, we're nosey, because we want to figure out what to do if we decide on Central Portugal for our future homestead. In our 60's, this will be our one, last, final move, so are very cautious to not make a mistake in our location choice. You know better than anyone ALL-THE-WORK that goes into developing a new family farm!!! Many thanks for all that you do!!
Hauling all those rocks was well worth the intense labor. Your garden looks amazing! God bless!
Lovely process. Love seeing your dream.
It's such a joy to watch you create a lovely garden. Thank you for sharing!
Hi! I am a new subscriber from Philippines. I also love farming that's why I thank God that I found your channel. I am wishing you guys a healthy life. God bless you!
I can not wait to see this gardens the next spring. Amazing job!!!
I hope you & your family are well and that your home projects are coming along well too.
Your work is amazing.
"BEAUTIFUL" landscape design!! I SO enjoy watching your videos. Thank you!!
Best wishes to you and your family as you grow your home together. 😄
Ziet er schitterend uit.
Zo leuk om te horen dat jullie kinderen zo makkelijk van taal naar taal overschakelen.
Staggering amount of work guys. With the farms being shut in The Netherlands...you did the hard but smart thing. Best wishes from New Zealand.
What they're doing has absolutely nothing to do with farms in the Netherlands; they've lived in France for years. Also, the farns being closed are mega stalls with thousands of animals on as small of an area as possible. Not exactly the kind of permaculture-style approach they're taking here
This is creativity at its best. I have only immense admiration for you and i hope that your videos are going to inspire others to do the same, get out of the rat race and 9 to 5 jobs and go and live a real life, as humans are supposed to live. I wish you all the best and lots and lots of success with everything you do.
Looks great. Well done.
Pretty amazing!
Hi Moreno, You and your family are such an inspiration and a role model to show anything can be achieved. Mostly farming is quite manual work intensive and seeing you go through this journey gives some confidence for people like me who are yet to take the leap.
Absolutely amazing work.
Absolutely beautiful!!!
I LOVE what you guys are doing, and I love your teamwork, especially how you are teaching your children. Your homestead is looking fabulous! Keep up the great work. Thank you for sharing your journey with us.
Fantastisch wat jullie maken en zo leuk om de ontwikkeling te zien. Hartelijk dank daarvoor en veel succes.
I have just moved and am in the process of turning our overgrown garden into a market garden with food forest. Love the videos for inspiration. Forest terrace area looks great!
Beautiful!!!
It’s amazing to watch your progress. Good job!
Great work mate!
It's refreshing to see it come together & using the correct principles, to achieve your goal.
It's so important to have the family help, especially the younger ones 👍
Great work. Nice to see others working towards a permaculture system. We never bought in composts etc, or could afford , fruit trees or diggers as on your previous videos. So our progress a bit slower. But a couple of years in now and our natural mulch trees are big and create shade. So should start to really power ahead this Spring. Well done you are another inspiration.
Very refreshing and inspiring video. Thank you for sharing this to us. The beauty of the garden along with the hard labor put into it makes it so satisfying. More to come I hope? Be well
New subscriber here from Canada.
Absolutely beautiful work you and your family have been doing!
Love it. So creative. Great work.
It's very good footage.
I do have some worry for the plant being able to dig in the true hard soil once they go all the way below the compost. Probably not the first year.
I may have added few straw to restrict compaction. Given you provide large amount of compost, maybe wood is not an issue as the is no expected nitrogen stress.
I hope you can sustain you familly and money won't be an issue. I see wonderfull footages but no much things to sell.
congratulations Moreno, to you and your family, you're doing great!!
Wow, I just found your channel and get superinspired! We just bought a small homestead ourselves and got a bit overwelmed with trying to balance work here with small kids (1 and 4 yrs), but to see your progress and videos gives me so much new energy! Thank you for sharing!
Hi Ellen, ours are now 5 & 2 and it's always a challenge to find the right balance. We have accepted the fact that everything just takes much longer with the kids. At the end of the day, we do it all for them, so why not embrace that and provide them with a good learning experience through playing and participation. Wish you all the best and good luck!
@@TheDutchFarmer Looking forward to an update video. Hope all is well and the family is good. All the best !
BEAUTIFUL!!! I wish I could have helped you, this is the stuff I love to do! ❤
Very inspiring! As Portuguese say: 'O homem sonha, a obra nasce.' 🙂
Fernando Pessoa.
Woww!!! Amazing work!
You have been working very hard....what a transformation 👏
Moreno you made a wonderful job! I have a question and one tip for you:
- why did you realize a garden with non-straight beds?
- I really suggest you to plant some trees around or through the vegetable garden, as the summer heat and drought can be very challenging with the mediterranean climate. Also a double layer of mulch (compost + straw or woodchip) could be necessary on beds.
Thanks a lot for sharing these contents! ♥️
I hope all is well with your family and farm. Also for selfish reasons that you continue to post content. We enjoy and miss you!
Well done to all of you 👏 👍
Guess that you in another life, you were being farming in the same land.
That's why you put so much love, everywhere in your farm.
Wow! the amount of work you put into this is astounding! It looks amazing!
It's so inspiring!
You are all Golden 🌟
All power to you, you've have all done an amazing job.
Curious what kind of house you’re eventually gonna build, just a conventional home or insulated rammed earth or insulated adobe house maybe.
I would preferably build into a berm/ partly build into a hill , covered in earth or just a straight forward earthship design maybe insulated from cold winters and warm summers in a stable mass stabilized home? Depending on budget I would consider a ferrocement bubble house design like the bubble palace house in France or the earthbag dome house concept for several smaller dome builds for B&B rentals. So many options.
Should you build with rammed earth or adobe or an earthship, make sure to get lots of volunteers/ participants to help while learn to build for themselves but covering/ their own food, housing and transport costs (maybe set up a tent and field beds for ten people?).
Hope you are all in good situation ❤️❤️❤️
This place is getting beautiful! Great job, folks!
I love what you are doing with this property so much that I would like to pick up a shovel immediatly and help you with your project. Helping the Land to thrive again and living from its fruits looks so statisfying. All the best for you and your Family
Its beautiful guys. Keep it up 😉
It is so inspiring to see your development, thank you for showing. Beautiful in such an environment 😄
Wow, just wow! Congratulations and keep on keeping on. This is incredible and I love the way it has come out beautifully altogether. The girls are also following on your footsteps, this is incredible. Keep on sharing, keep on planting. I'm sure what you sow shall be incredible to consume once it matures. Enjoy the fruits of your labour!
I can't wait to see what is the finish of your new farm in countryside!... Idol
The title photo is the most beautiful photo I have ever seen!❤

Epic! Very beautiful stone walls I plan to make loads of that for growing beds too! It gets better and better, what a beautiful land you're creating 😍
I & friends have been waiting your new videos for months now. We all hope that you & family are in great shape and always active. News from Portugal are kinda worrisome in terms of extreme heat and all kind of weather consequences. Stay strong! Have a most blessed summer.
Great transformation. Keep it up mate.
How far is your place from market or near by town.
Have not seen you for a while now. Are you still filming? Love what you have done with land. Hope all is OK and will be seeing you soon ❤
