Build, Bail & Sail, Nakusp, 5 August 1990

Between 1990 and 2007, one of the highlights of the August long weekend in Nakusp took place on waterfront in the form of Loma Lumber’s Build, Bail & Sail competition. Local building supplies retailer Loma sponsored the event, which featured teams of two racing against the clock to construct sailing vessels from scratch using a small amount of supplies from the store and their own ingenuity. Once the allotted building time was over, the teams then had to race their boats - often with hilarious results!
