yeah, funnily i've never heard the one on the video, but i've heard the one you mentioned, and that was on my fifth run!! there's another one after (spoiler alert, but then again anyone who read this probably already know) the cutscene the devil's breath were taken by otto n gang from Silver Sable truck, shown on TV news in F.E.A.S.T. when you visited Aunt May. On the way to the truck, Otto left you a voicemail saying about he's sorry or something like that, some sort of last good bye. I tried reloading the save before the cutscene in F.E.A.S.T., swing for a couple minutes repeatedly and the call never show up again!
I've legitimately completed 4 playthroughs of this game and never gotten this call. This definitely weighed on his choice to not save May. Surprised it's not a guaranteed call.
One thing I want for the sequel is more random phone calls. It wouldn’t make sense for characters to just stop talking after the game’s been platinumed. The calls from Peter in Miles Morales after you beat the game made the world more immersive and I always look forward to discovering new dialogue.
Agreed. In Miles there’s a number of revealing conversations that only occur after you beat the game; for instance Peter saying in it that he might become a teacher and he’s now living out of May’s place in Queens
@@jmoriarty8000 take the GTA V approach. There it was mainly a way to get the characters to interact after the story; majority of the dialogue was recycled. For Spider-Man you can have the calls initiate races, challenges or activities and easily recycle lines.
The way he said "sorry ive been off the grid." Did kinda make me think if you stop playing the game for a while you get this call to make you feel bad. But looking at other comments, I see that's not the case.
One thing I remember noticing is that peters voice sounds kinda strained when he’s swinging through the cities during calls, but when you stop moving he talks normally. Not really important to the video itself but I love that they added this kinda stuff in. Adds to the realism of the story, you know?
I read an article that stated they did go in and record 2 seperate versions of all these conversations for just that reason. I also was super impressed by this and glad Insomniac thinks about stuff like that.

I love this phone call because it humanizes Yuri so much without the DLC. She's mostly been just a voice throughout the whole story, but in that one moment she sounds so vulnerable, so human. That one phone call had to be stuck in peter's mind when debating on giving the cure to his aunt, and why he was so willing to keep the mask off until the doctor came back in.

I always made sure through my 1st and if not 2nd game play to make sure I heard everything before going into a key mission. What I always heard was the phone call with Sable saying that she will be leaving to reflect. Which I always thought was a bit of a odd place for it before the end game.
Its so amazing to hear from Yuri. Its even more heartbreaking when she went to her mom. Spider-Man PS4 was the best and with Yuri as the cherry on top, you can bet that it and the Sam Raimi will be remembered.

I usually hear all the conversations because they happen after a set amount of time, and I usually swing or move slowly so I can hear them all. That and when the game told me that I should finish progress before the Doc Ock fight, I pretty much 99% completed the main game.

I usually hear all the conversations because they happen after a set amount of time, and I usually swing or move slowly so I can hear them all.
That and when the game told me that I should finish progress before the Doc Ock fight, I pretty much 99% completed the main game.
I remember getting this phone call and it scared the hell outta me because I didn't know if she was going to make it.

didn't knew was rare... without this call, isn't a little weird when, in the post-end content, first time Yuri calls, Spidey say she is back and ask about her mom?

I found this when I decided to keep a save when the city went all “gang war” because It’s like a playground where you can fight almost anywhere you go and it honestly caught me off guard
When I played the game on Ps5 I tried to do most side stuff before the final fight, and I got this call along with one from aunt may and MJ. Never heard them before because I would just do the final fight, so cool I’m still finding things 3 years later!
She got that ‘Rona in the middle of the story. Damn😂🤣😭

When I heard this I was super sad hearing it. Especially after the connection established with Yuri.
There’s so many phone calls or Jameson episodes or even just bits of dialogue that are completely missable unless you wait for like 10 minutes between missions
I never knew this was supposed to be a *rare* phone call. I hear this conversation every time I get to this point in the game.
But it makes me sad every time I hear it. Knowing that Pete/Spider-Man is at one of his darkest moments.
These two are married in real life, and I can just feel their chemistry in this clip.
This was part of the reason I was turbo swinging around the city, the faster I went the less people could die
