What a fantastic interview. I truly appreciate getting to know the people behind the scenes on a personal level that I've watched over the years. Raphael seems like such an awesome gent.
What an event! So cool seeing you with a giant in The Land of Online Menswear. Raphael was one of the first to get me into this wonderful world, present style to me not just as something to wear but as worth learning about in some depth, and it was great fun seeing him with you. As Raphael has introduced new presenters to The Gentleman's Gazette channel, I've also become quite fond of some of them as well, particularly Kyle Thibodeaux. It was a good interview, fascinating and quick-paced. You're clearly well-suited to podcasting! Very happy, though not at all surprised, to hear Ash Jones is next. Cheers.
Thanks, Jeremiah. Raphael is indeed a giant in this arena. I also had the pleasure of meeting Preston, who is a real gentleman too. And I will be meeting their British presenter, Jack, in London later this year.
@@Gent.Z Oh now nice, Preston always seems lovely. Jack Collins? Wonderful, like I said on your Insta, you're going good places and looking sharp doing it.
@@gentlemansgazette Well, hello! If that was meant to address me, (or were you addressing James?) you're very welcome! It's a wonderful team you have. Thank you so much for what you all do.
I've been subscribed to Gentleman's Gazette for 3 years and Raphael and his team are amazing! Thank you for having a chat with Raphael- it's both inspiring and informative! Kudos!!! 50:50
I like how you doing these collaborations with fellow YT'ers especially at your age. Please don't be afraid to collaborate to Preston or Kyle, who are a bit closer to your age. While both their styles are a bit different than your, they do command respect in regards to style.
Very insightful video Sir! Could you please make a video on how a gentleman should use social media? Whether he should use it or not? I’ve always hated social media and wanted to live like people did 60-70+ years ago. But times have changed, and we live in a time where attention is modern day’s currency and we as men have to have some kind of status for ourselves. I know this is going to sound contradicting but I do have social media but I don’t post every second/detail of my life. Just use it to connect with others and post once in a while. I feel like sometimes I can be cynical towards the world today as a 18 year old and overthink things. I dress as nice as possible, try to be respectful to others, and make everyday worthwhile. How would you go about making something out of yourself if you were my age? Please let me know Sir. Thank you, Omid
Though this might come as a surprise on a channel dedicated to fasihon and style: many men don't like shopping 🙂. So many rather buy an expensive leather wallet with durable seams, for instance, which lasts 10 years than spending time every other year (or even more frequently) on this item. It's supposed to be there and do the job. Same thing with shoes, pants and so forth. Okay, that might be me only...
Not bad, the Gent Z looks dapper. So much nicer with a crisp ironed shirt with tie and a DB club blazer and a modest pocket square, rather than just a wrinkled open collar shirt.
Gent Z is a true born hustler. Came up on my feed 2 weeks ago and has been popping up with the big lads every day recently. Terrific! Also, Raphael is from Schwabisch Hall?? A good friend moved there a few years ago and told me that it was a small, neat but forgotten town. And here it is again.
I buy used , unworn or factory seconds shirts, shoes and ties off Ebay at savings of 30-50% of retail. I bought my watch collection off ebay for 30-45% of retail. I love Ebay.
Great colab podcast. If I could interject, as someone who live next door to Mpls in "Old St Paul" You could do much worse than stopping bye the St Paul Grill in the St Paul Hotel and perusing their very capable Scotch selections. Appreciate the channel!
I found a lot of cool stuff on eBay. Mostly shoes and boots; but jackets, shirts, and trousers as well. Lots of Brooks Brothers, Ralph Lauren, Crocket and Jones, and Allen Edmonds. Gentleman's Gazette rocks. I've learned a lot from the guys on that channel. What I already knew about style was strongly confirmed. I am thinking about purchasing some shadow stripe socks from FB; really like the look of them. I'm so glad you had Raphael on your show. Good job.
I've started to buy jackets on eBay. I've been selling jackets that I don't want to keep on eBay but hadn't bought anything yet. Now, I am kind of kicking myself that I didn't start on eBay earlier. However, I do think that you need to at least have a good idea of a brand that you like and you know fits you well and you can start looking for them on eBay. For example, I know that Charles Tyrwhitt fits me well so I've been looking for their jackets on eBay. I just returned an Indochino jacket that was seemingly made for a much larger man. I guess that is the one negative is not being to try on before buying. But at least you can return. I definitely would recommend at least knowing what fits you and having a good idea of that before just jumping into eBay.
@@thechairman74 Cool, knowing your measurements is key. Many jackets have basic measurements online. You can also ask a seller to provide them. Brooks Brothers jackets fit me well with minimal tailoring. The shirts however are hit or miss. I find the regent fit works best for me. I have three OCBD shirts in this fit. Blue, white and blue/white stripes. All three together for less than $180 US. New with tags, made in NC with mother of pearl buttons. A rare find these days. Wish the seller had more.
Gent Z didn’t even start a year ago but they are already doing meet and greets and Meeting the big guys of the classic menswear community, pretty impressive, it’s all hard work and luck. Incredible video by the way.
I trully don't like that round collar there... reminds me girls from old movies... I may like seeing it if the whole outfit is a bit retro (Alex Cormac, Tommy Shelby...). Just my view. Gazete is surprisingly cool! All different colours, but stylish, relaxed, nearly flamboyant... It works greatly for spring (except for that effect on the neck/ sholder). Nothing german there. 😎
I remember first seeing the Club Collar on school uniforms of some of the girls and always thought it had a certain appeal to it. Anyone can wear the collar and even on a man it looks stylish and has that same appeal to it!
Nice conversation. Refinement suggestions for the presenters. According to Hugo Jacomet, a pocket square should not be worn inside a patch pocket. Also, it is more elegant to remove the teabag from the cup while drinking.
I bought this popular video watch from mamacoo , which was originally priced at a few thousand dollars, but now it's only $380! It's really suitable to pick up feces!

I commented Raphael style before. His attitude matches perfectly: cool and relaxed. Nothing german (german is just associated to other qualities).

The club collar is a very specific look - not to everyone's taste. I like them. Raphael always looks good and this outfit was no exception.
