  • "There are many spirits that reside in Hawaiʻi. One of the most infamous are the Huakaʻi Pō, the Night Marchers."
Mana-full Mondays: Growing up in Hawaiʻi, you hear all kinds of moʻolelo having to do with Hawaiian beliefs and spirituality. One of the most well known are the stories of our chiefly ancestral spirits who march during specific phases of the moon, the Night Marchers. Now I was one of those keiki who were suuuuuper curious when it came to anything "supernatural" that I undoubtably went through a phase where I was obsessed with reading books like Obake Files, Chicken Skin, etc, etc. Let me also add that one of my fav Hawaiian music groups (Sudden Rush Hawai’i) also had a song playing on the radio everyday called Night Marchers (which still goes hard to this day 🔥 ) that only fueled my interest in these topics. Basically, I wanted to share this clip with you all so that we (my Facebook Fam) can further reflect and discuss some our own spiritual ancestral teachings/stories that continue to play a role in our everyday lives. Any of you folks have any ancestral visitations you'd like to share? Feel free to comment below. If not, no worries, just know you're not crazy. 😉

I was always skeptical about all of this untill the King Kamehameha and the marchers spotted me over at South point on the big island. The spirit was so powerful and questioned me and something happened within my mind and the shift happened. I've never been scared before untill that moment. The spirit felt like it was 7 feet tall and the following day I've came back and made an offering to the spirits. What ppl have to understand that this happens on the mental level not physical. You won't see dudes marching for God's sake. It's a spiritual experience and you have to be connected with that part of your mind in order to feel the marchers. It changed my life forever.

3:18 So, she was in danger even though she had Hawaiian ancestry? Even that is not enough unless one has an ancestor in the marchers?
