Filipino World War II vets finally get their Congressional Gold Medal in Vallejo, CA

18 families of Filipino World War II veterans received the Congressional Gold Medal for their service and sacrifices made almost 80 years ago.
Authorized in 2016 by former President Barack Obama, the Congressional Gold Medal, the highest civilian honor in the US, was bestowed to all Filipino World War II veterans.
The Filipino Veterans Recognition Education Project has been instrumental in putting on these awarding ceremonies throughout the country.
