Well technically the Elder Concordian made the portal bigger earlier for them to escape already. Bowser just viciously chucked them into the portal just to get it over with faster cause he has zero patience.
i love how bowser wants to take over a world he just arrived into, in the middle of a battle and then tries killing mario and luigi at the same time. bowser sure can be crazy! i also like how bowser immediately was causing chaos again at the ending XD he needs to chill, but bowser is bowser. a loveable villain to me
