My wife loves her color- by-number app with her old iPad, using a dumb stylus. Her favorite is “Happy Color”. It’s a mindless way to pass the time and there’s lots of beautiful content. For Christmas she got a 2021 iPad and an Apple Pencil (and Procreate). She has artistic skills, but she is not looking advanced drawing apps, just for the next step up from color-by-number. It would be great, for example if she could change the colors (she hates lime green!). We’d be grateful for any suggestions.

You can close an app and go to the Home Screen, if you gently place the tip on the left or right bottom corners. But it only works when the iPad is in landscape mode.

Oh no Close to the side of the new iPad Pro that feature is the cut out for a while is charging in the Apple Pencil magnetically snap in a place I promise I'll probably ask you to connect and that's it it's paired and already charging now every time you connect a pencil the battery life will be displayed and you can also check the battery life by looking at the battery which is on the window page degrees
I'm not worried about the tips, since I've been using Samsung SPens for years and my current phone is the Note8 which I've had since release (like late 2017 I think) and I draw *constantly* and use handwriting recognition for all of my notes and I've never needed to swap tips before. I keep mine clean, and always put it away and it's just fine. The only current wear on it is from a crack I got in my screen and it has been wearing the pen as it scrapes across it when I draw... I try to be mindful tho. (I cracked my phone when I crashed my motorcycle. First ever broken phone since highschool! Haha I broke my streak... literally. Last broken phone was the Google G1! So long ago.)

How long does it take to charge the pencil? I noticed that I used mine, fully charged, for i think 30 minutes and the battery went from 100 to 60. Then when i charged it, i noticed how it went from 60 to 93% in just 3 minutes. then it started charging really slow to 100%

Pencil tips do wear out fast when using the non _ glare, paper like screen protectors. Oh yes they do! Love procreate! I have had my ap 2 for 1.5 weeks waiting to have my iPad Air 4 delivered and got it today. It's a nice change to the wireless charging. Magnet is pretty much stronger than I thought it could be. Now to sell my older pro and pencil. It is not easy parting with my apple devices.
Is there a workaround with the gestures thing? I bought the logitech crayon since it's half the price and I have the same issue with gestures not working. That kind of sucks
It doesn’t overcharge, Apple has a technology called static charging, (originally designed for overnight charging), which makes sure that once your device (or accessory) reaches 100% battery, it will stop normally charging and just send enough power to keep it at 100% rather than keeping the same voltage.

I got one of these as a gift from a childhood friend, and honestly I was wondering why he would spend a ton just over a pencil for me but I was extremely grateful. Skipping to the present, I've owned this pen for around 2 months and jeez, if you have an iPad that's compatible and can catch one for a good price, definitely get it. I started using it to take notes and it's a life saver!! I'm truly fully apple at this point and I don't know how to feel lol .Not a flex, I got gifted a ton of stuff and I've been saving ever since they announced the m1. The reason why I'm stating this is that I believe, in cases where you have an iPad and you need a better system to take notes with, pick it up. Or if you just like using a glorified stylus then this is for you! ;)

In my opinion both pencil feel great if the older one had matt finish it would have better feel but there are things you can buy to make it feel better the apple pencil 2 is really good and is more practical to use cause its always attached to your ipad and is constantly charged and you dont have to worry about back part breaking also i think if anyone has old i pad pro there is no reason to upgrade its just stupid ios doesnt take full advantage of new i pad pro and it never will the old one will still last you another 2 years

António Santos yes, it’s possible! Transferring to iCloud files is a lot faster than iCloud photos. So once you drag a PDF from your Mac, to icloud files, it will be available instantly. From there, you can hit the Share button, add to notes, and you’re golden! You will be able to read and write on it. I hope this helps :)
The Apple Pencil 2G will support 2018-2021 iPad Pros. If you stuff the iPad into a bag with the pencil attached, the pencil could be knocked off the iPad so a pencil sleeve may be needed. Also, AppleCare+ includes registration of the iPad Pro along with the pencil so don't forget that.

The new pencil is awesome. Have you noticed the current charging bug however? While attached the iPad rapidly loses battery even when the pencil is fully charged. This destroys the ability to keep the pencil always attached. I tested overnight and the loss of battery is over 10% with pencil attached vs. 1% without.

That's not an app. I think for the iPad, it allows you to screenshot and use the apple pencil to mark it up after.

Same. I recently switched to the new iPad and apple pencil and my tip turned flat LoL so i used an extra tip from the old apple pencil XD
so does a display if you drop your phone. Should Iphones come with an extra display aswell lol

The new pencil is awesome. Have you noticed the current charging bug however? While attached the iPad rapidly loses battery even when the pencil is fully charged. This destroys the ability to keep the pencil always attached. I tested overnight and the loss of battery is over 10% with pencil attached vs. 1% without.

That’s the main reason I went for the older pencil , the magnet and charge feature isn’t really enough for me to to pay the extra and get a pro iPad

And that's why they made cases to hold the original pencil and also came with a little connector to plug into a lightning cable.
