I've seen over 200 bicycles thrown in the trash every year for the last 31 years. Bike owners are scum. Dog owners are scum too. I've had 164 dogs run to my dogs and attack them straight away. People can rot in hell, that's what they deserve based on their pure selfishness. They don't deserve or appreciate this bike or any other bike. The generation who appreciated this bike stuff are DEAD.
Conversion by the unwise. It wasn't maintained. It was ruined and its still ruined. This isn't your opportunity to react and post a comment. You're not in a conversation.
13:00 I just picked up a used fixed gear and didn't check the cog or the lock ring first. I went on a ride and when I backpedaled to slow down the cog slipped. I got off and both the cog and the lock ring were only finger tight. A good tip to check them! It definitely happens!
Thanks for that BB trick! Will save me some time and parts if another one I’ve faced is a bugger. I just use penetrating oil; make a cup of coffee; get at it again. Keep it up! You’ve been helping and encouraging me to restore more bikes!
15:50 one of the most beautiful moments when you restore a bike ... a new, filigree seat clamp. What some people install there ... from very ugly cap nuts to "scaffolding screws" - everything was included and nothing looks nicer than a suitable saddle clamp ...
It's possible that the frame may be a Paconi made frame for the Cecil Walker shop. I used to ride one on the track that was very close in tubeset to what yours is, except for the double bridge at the back. Not sure what tubing mine was but it was sure nice to ride and stiff as hell!
If the Shimano parts weren't added too long after the build, then judging by the date codes (August 2000 for the cranks, August 2001 for the BB), you have a late-'90s/Y2K frame :-)
what a beauty, have you been able to find anything about frame material or history of the frameset,it has some nice touches in its design.cracking video.
Hi! Iv been watching a lot of your videos. The quality is amazing. I have a question. I am converting an 80s french made peugot to a fixed gear since it has horizontal dropouts. Do u think i will need to get a different spindle length bb? Im going to use a 120mm rear hub with spacers to fit the 126mm dropouts.
this tubing looks to be extremely similar to a bmx frameset i saw on Dans Comp yeeeaaars back. supposedly its stupid strong with the lumpy tubing. Great build as always
okay I'll just comment and ask, what is that song that plays while you are truing the wheels? Cannot stop watching all the builds and stuff by the way!
I cant find the video, but I think I saw you use a wedge tool between the wheel and frame to tension your chain once. Not sure if it was you after trying to find it. If it was you, where did you get that?
Shows total respect for the previous resident and releases him to the garden. Such class!
He would have been a deceased resident if he was on my bike......haha
Theres nothing better than a video from you in the morning
250NZD is about 170USD... the DA crank alone costs about that much, what a steal
170 USD? 😭 for us in Canada it’s $320 CAD or $256 USD for a USED set 😭😭😭
Damn dude, that’s a lot. I was browsing eBay today, and some used options came up even a bit lower than $170
Hell nah dura ace cranksets are like 400 bucks
@@anaxamanderjelliff7733 yeah, new ones are. Used ones are much less
the uk the cranks new are 300+
The video quality is just top notch man. And retro bike builds are the best. Great video and I'd love to see more vintage/retro builds. Subscribed.
Thank you man! And thanks for the nice feedback, I’ll try do more of them🙂
That build is a premium build even before the resto. Whoever sold it, I doubt knew what the had let go off.
Always love the restoration/conversion type videos!!
Thank you! More to come✌️
Agreed, super rad to see an old bike get a new life

Needle roller bearing headset 😍😍😍
So jealous, they are much smoother and handle load much better than a standard ball bearing.
Mmm, good coffee, beautiful track bike... That's how a nice morning should look like!
👌
Love the longer vid
Thanks, I’ll try do more of them :)

Absolutely beautiful build and bike. And I love that tip with the bottom bracket tool so it doesn't slip off. Great video!

Instant classic bit of WW canon right here - how bout a nice tape job on the next set of bars ?
Thanks! and yep that’s a good idea!
sweet build
Nicely done !!!
Thank you!!
sweet trick with the axle nut on BB
Thanks, has saved me a lot of times!
one tip for new grips: spray hair lacquer in it, before push it over the handlebar. it slides easy over, but when its dry, it glue very strong
👍
Great looking bike, was it a columbus frame or just the forks, I wish I could find an old bike like this, 😀
Still haven’t found out unfortunately!
what a beauty, have you been able to find anything about frame material or history of the frameset,it has some nice touches in its design.cracking video.
Thanks geeman! Haven’t heard back from them yet, really keen to find out though!
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Love your work 🤜
Thank you 🤛

One day you will🤞

thank you! and that's interesting, I wonder what it was?
@@waveywheelies I'll do some research on it. I think it was an old Sunday frame I'm not too sure. But yeah those tubes are practically un-dentable
wow i love❤️❤️❤️ classic look fixie.
thanks✌️
Nice build and restoration man. Loved it 💯💯. Just asking where did you get those 2nd hand or used fixed gear? Hope no notice man. Love your content
Thanks man! Just from online marketplaces, depending on where you live second hand fixed gear parts can be hard to find though!
Me: No way he can restore this
waveywheelies: Hold my tools
SOO PRETTY!! and try to make a tutorial for wheelies hehe
Thanks!! and I’ll keep that in mind :)
@@waveywheelies please please please 💓💓
So nice! More of these vids pls ;)
Roger that! :)
Great job 💫💫💫
Thanks 😊
Nice frame and good job on with the restoration! Looks great. Whats the geometry? The front fork and head tube angle looks interesting.
Thank you! Not sure, ill have to measure it up
Sweet!!!
okay I'll just comment and ask, what is that song that plays while you are truing the wheels? Cannot stop watching all the builds and stuff by the way!
Thank you! the music is made by a friend of mine and isn't released anywhere yet sorry!
I have a 1973 raliegh grand prix with some aftermarket parts... Where does it rank among track/road bikes in today's world.
I had one new back in the day...they are a nice frame...not especially light but nicely made and made in England...not China
Would love to see some more vids on that ken Evans you build :)
What kind of videos?🙂
@@waveywheelies upgrades? Riding? Just cool cinematic shots? Anything. Ken Evans is an absolute legend and his frames are fresh af.
Sweet, I’ll keep that in mind! Been riding it daily for a few months now and there is a few things i want to change, so I’ll save them for a video👍
best rebuild in the channel! what do you use to clean the headset?
Thank you!! I use degreaser then clean with soapy water then dry thoroughly
0:55 Quite the weld 😳
Haha!
Nice work dude! Luv ur videos!
Greetings from Germany :)
Thanks man! Hello from New Zealand👋
Hey love the build man. Can you tell me what songs are used in this vid?
Thanks! All the beats are made by a friend of mine
Tight tight!!!(give one inch at the quill stem though, it's too nice to be slammed down like that, I think..)
👌
that headset is cool af
I know right, was a rad surprise for me!
That handlebar stem is probably an Kalloy Uno?
Not sure sorry!
woah sweet headset, do you know if those wear/deform faster than round bearings?
I doubt it.....much bigger surface area...can take more load...
What @TRUTH SEEKER said👆, they have a larger surface area
7710s are worth like 300 themselves. WHERE DID YOU FIND THIS DEAL
wow
just wow
I cant find the video, but I think I saw you use a wedge tool between the wheel and frame to tension your chain once. Not sure if it was you after trying to find it. If it was you, where did you get that?
Not me.. I don’t think. Never used a wedge, but I do know what your talking about. They look kinda like a wooden door stop?
@@waveywheelies Yeah, I ordered a door stop to try lol. Might be nice to use sometimes.
Edit: Also thanks for all the great videos!
Haha awesome! And thanks man, I appreciate it!!
4:58 sir wavey what is the size of the wrench you use on standard headsets?
Did Cecil ever get back to you about the tubing?
Unfortunately not :(
Man can I have that old wheel set 🤣😭
looks like Columbus spirit HSS be extremely careful clamping it by the top tube
Could be! and yeah totally, also need to be more careful riding it 😅
❤
the white paste is thread sealant?
that headset is thicccccc
👌
Wowee 💥💥💥
😊
Hi did you ream or sand seat tube?
No I didn't ream it but that is a good idea, I definitely would have if I had one!
