Lawd have mercy what a different world....... I was born a year later... Can you imagine how much EASIER it would be to sell those vacuums then vs now?
The big turn off for me when I worked for them the summer of 86 was the majority of “cold call visits” I had no business doing. I had a regional manager that would go with me and he would not take no for an answer. He would intimidate people into saying yes then once we got back to the office every one of those people would cancel. I ended up quitting because I was spending all of this time from 8 a.m. till 9 p.m. and hardly ever making a sale. It was literally the worst job I’ve ever had
Were people actually this excited to work for Kirby, or were there a lot of martinis drank before this meeting? Are there any Kirby salesmen out there who would like to share their experiences? For the record, I have nothing against Kirby. I love mine. I have the Heritage 2, which is still kicking strong after 30+ years!
As a Kirby Salesman in todays world it is amazing I feel these men's excitement This company brings the true opportunity for anybody that even the most mediocre salesman can make a decent living One sale can make you up to $1500! And if you sell at least one everyday with 4 days off in one month 1500 in commission x 26 days = $42,000 in one month! That's $504,000 a year if done right!
Yep. Born into Kirby. My dad was a top totem pole salesman for Kirby in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He sold 33 personals a month raising 6 kids in a beautiful home he built in the early 60’s. It was a great lifestyle and fun. I earned my distributorship with the help of my wife, Frankie, in Columbus, Ohio. We sold over 40,000 systems in 17 years and I retired at 37 years old. I am now today 63. We earned, invested, generational wealth. We have a special needs adult daughter, Maggie. Kirby was our vehicle and our vehicle was blessed by God. Thank you, Jesus.
