Year: 1407(hijrah) or 1985/1986
Surah's name: An-Nisa
Chapter: 4
ayaat(verses): 137 - 147
Topic: Munafiqeen(Hypocrites)
Ali Jaber was very famous for his melodious voice, and his great character as one of the imams of the Har'ram.
He stopped leading salah sometime in 1992, and was also a teacher in KIng Saud University in Riyadh, KSA.
He passed away in 2005(RA).

Anas bin Malik (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Allah is pleased with His slave who eats a meal and praises Him for it; and takes a drink and praises Him for it".
[Muslim].
وعنه قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: “إن الله ليرضى عن العبد أن يأكل الأكلة، فيحمده عليها، أو يشرب الشربة، فيحمده عليها" ((رواه مسلم)).
((الأكلة” بفتح الهمزة وهي المرة الواحدة من الأكل كالغدوة والعشوة، والله أعلم)).
الآيات الأولى جدا صعبة، اللهم اجعلنا من من ترضى اقوالهم و أفعالهم ولا تؤادخنا على ما اخطأنا به

His voice has a magic in it! It grabs your heart as soon as you start listening without even a second late!

رحم الله شيخي ومعلمي في القران الشيخ علي عبد الله جابر وحفظ الله الشيخ صلاح باعثمان وكنت اتمنى من كل قلبي ان يتم تعيين الشيخ صلاح اماما رسميا في الحرم لانه اعشقه بحد الجنون واول ماابدء يومي يجب ان استمع اليه هو وشيخي الشيخ علي جابر واتذكر عندما كنا نذهب لمكة في رمضان ولايصلي شيخي في هذا ازعل ولا اصلي ووالدي يقول لي لماذا لا تصلي وارد عليه ان الشيخ علي جابر لم يصلي رحمة الله عليك ياشيخي ولي ذكريات كثيرة معه

Oh believers, do not befriend the non believers, or do you want Allah to have a clear evidence against you? Allah is telling us, it is forbidden, not allowed to make non believers into our friends, let alone be our protectors.
Just an advise, research about the verse you are referring to to make sure you understand it correctly
We can see today why that verse applies. There is a reason these verse exist and are guidelines. When we followed it we did amazingly and now when we don't we became humiliated. Look at us.
