      Its honestly interesting to see him articulate his points and watch when he has to resort to his notes for his points and the words he choses. He honestly sounds like this isnt even his real opinion, but his "im salty about dying and now im shitting on this game because Kripp said its bad". I didnt think he ever said at which tier of maps he stopped. And I am almost certain it is nowhere near red maps and actually most likely he stopped in late white maps. Which is funny, because thats exactly the point where Kripp said you dont notice any of this stuff yet. His build is either complete ass or his gear is beyond trash and he cant accept that running around with that shit wont net him success in maps. From my experience it only really starts to become iffy around t10 maps, because thats when my merc with essentially no defensive layering started to get oneshot by random on death effects (especially chaos).
      Other than that the only fcked up thing I noticed was bosses with physical slam attacks, those are also pretty insane if you dont have giga armor or plain %dmg reduction.

      @yautjacetanu Kripp is right. end game is very challenging. I keep on dying in T11 maps with 1.3k HP (due to 3rd asc. 25% reserved HP) which is not recommended. I reached to the point that what will I do? I will create a new character or farm in lower maps like T8 to T10 so that I can have enough currency to upgrade my gears to increase my HP and not to sacrifice my Spirit and Max Capped resistance. So I take a rest for whole day, go back to the game and keep on farming. Upgrade my gears. Whoala huge difference. I have thousand of hrs. in POE 1 with few mirrors worth of gears. POE 1 veterans like Kripp who played POE 1 for more than a decade now is comparing his game experience in POE 1 with POE 2. In POE 1 you can have relax mode while in POE 2 there is no relax mode. BTW I'm following Kripps build since he posted the build in mobalytics. Overall, POE 2 is a Quadruple AAAA game for me. The longer I played POE 2 the more i'm loving it. @@MikeyJ28 It's almost like Path of Exile in its earlier days was not a mindless powerfantasy and yet it was successful enough to gain all subsequent momentum. You clearly never played before Perandus league etc. Poe 2 in its current state has amassed a much greater playerbase (with strong retention) coming from people who are new to the poe community. This is further corroborated by Chris Wilson's statement that, during earlier playtesting, sclerotic poe 1 players struggled more to perform competently in poe 2 than players who were entirely new to the series. This indicates that the game has already outgrown poe 1 and is poised to be a bigger success. You're stuck in a particular mindset, just like an old man. So, go play poe 1. It's still there for people like you.

    • @MikeyJ28
      @MikeyJ28 Місяць тому +1

      @ This is nothing more than a dishonest comparison. PoE 2 is in fact in its earliest of days, but we cannot compare a game in development in 2024/2025 to one from 2011/12.
      The difference is over a decade of experience, knowledge and mastering of the systems and designs that made PoE 1 a perfectly imperfect and interesting ARPG.
      We also cannot compare original indie-startup GGG to current multi-million dollar Tencent benefactor GGG that has had well over 5 years and millions of dollars invested into making their second iteration.
      While yes, I believe PoE 2 is currently the worst it will be and has a lot of room to grow, the issues I have aren’t things that get worked out during Early Access. The entire design of the game is entirely detrimental to what made original PoE a 4,000 hour game rather than a 400 hour game.
      Everything from the terribly designed and uninteresting passive tree to the overly drawn out slow campaign. The changes to Ascendency/Lab being the most backwards decision imaginable and locking players down to one single Ascendency. The lack of agency one has with their character leads to uninspired metas with no creativity or innovation.
      All of these things are core game designs that will persist through Early Access and once the honeymoon period comes to an end, I really think a lot of players are going to start questioning whether or not this is a game they want to continue to replay every few months.

    • @tehpyg
      @tehpyg Місяць тому

      @@MikeyJ28 Exactly this and more. Exactly the counter points to the brainwashed junk people keep repeating, but can't hear over the sound of gargling Wilson's nuts. Repeating early access in response to every criticism disregards the massive amounts of time, money, and experience gone into the last 10 years, and currently. These are not early access issues, they are fundamental flaws in game design which do not even align in the slightest with what made PoE the 10 year gem that it has been. Not a game made for the fans like PoE once was, but a wet dream of someone too full of himself being lived out to satisfy ego and investors. But keep drinking it up. keep telling people to leave and to go back and play PoE 1. That's what I'll do while most of you get bored and move on to the next "big thing". Play a game that will likely now have it's resources and priorities shafted at the expense of this garbled mess that "looks and sounds really cool". So sad.

During act 2, he got unlucky with gem drops, so his main skill was very low compared to where he was. He also was running sub par minions, he hadn't swapped to arsonists yet. He was running a minion skill gem that required accuracy, but he had invested none into making them hit more.

    Ok so what I will say is I also disagree with Paul completely, I’m loving the difficulty off end game, I much prefer having to actually think about my decisions rather than run and blink through every map. However I’ve played these types of games before, I’m also playing with a friend and he is struggling a lot because he’s never played this type of game before. Even the most simple of things like not having enough accuracy, the game doesnt really teach u these things for newer players so he was confused why he was constantly missing his attacks. It’s these small details that is making the end game so hard for newer players.
    Other than that im loving the game, cant wait for it to be fully realised and we get all the classes and weapons.

    What Tassi said in the later part of the video is super exaggerated to the point where he should've sat on it for a day before making the video, however:
    With regards to waystone sustain, by the middle tiers of waystones, you start dropping tier 1-4 as much as tier 10 and up.
    This would make sustain a bit of a bother if you don't know that you're supposed to start regaling all of your maps and save 300-400%+ stones for boss maps or if you don't know the importance of getting rarity and stacking 10% chance to level up waystones on passive tree... or if you're a noob that's dying a lot
    Once you know that(which is probably only intuitive for a poe1 player), map sustain is solved. If you don't, then you will probably run out of waystones, especially as a new player. You could also look at adding precursors with rarity and waystone drop chance to towers.
    Also, once you're around tier 5-8 I'd recommend getting the atlas passive that doubles a rare. It's an extra chance at dropping waystones or currency. Also, also, I've gotten quite a few waystones by clicking on chests, so I'd recommend doing that too. Good luck exiles!

Act 3 Molten Boss and Act 3 intro zone on cruel mode when you first go back into the past. Just got to the endgame so will see how it goes. Think there is a middle ground between dying on the map resetting and the idea of corpse rushing. I did make some adjustments on the way for titan warrior like shield wall breaking and blinding the mobs with it on leap and earthquake then bone shatter, hammer for bosses on devastate break armor. You dont get enough res gear during the campaign to balance your resistances and you only realize after that all that "difficulty" straight up just comes from the fact of being undergeared/not res capped. And the end game basically has the same problem, everything works fine until you meet chaos damage, then u are dead. And capping chaos resistance is actually VERY hard even in trade league considering you have such high stat requirements to make ur gear/build work, u probably need to invest a lot in mana regen depending on build, because level 19/20 6 links eat inifinte mana, especcially on fast attack builds and u basically drop ZERO gear. During my entire playthrough to 92 i have not found a SINGLE rare item on the ground that i would even consider putting on my character.

There are wraiths that can spawn on the 4th floor of the sekhemas trial that can hit for thousands of damage with no modifiers, and these things are ranged, insanely fast and can teleport constantly, and that is just one of dozens of examples I could give. Removing the boss from maps if you die is just removing the challenge and the best part of the game. By all means if you die remove the events such as breach etc, but keep the boss. BUT.. make the bosses harder so they provide challenge themselves that needs overcome to complete the map. Perhaps maybe even make boss maps JUST a hard boss that doesnt use a keystone. You just have to kill said hard boss to complete it but with good rewards when you do.

      Pretty much this.
      The dude means well, but explains his views in such weird ways that people (especially Quin) focuses on his comparisons, instead of the "issue" he is describing - completely dismissing everything he is saying.
      Quin several times over, says that he needs to go back and watch Kripp's video - despite him clearly having understood it, but at the same time failing to come up with his own clear comparisons, but instead comes up with these weird ramblings, making it seem like he didn't understand anything.
      He makes it sound like he wants any challenging difficulty and "standard PoE punishments" removed - but that's not what he is saying though - it comes off like that, because he goes on rambling about XYZ things and makes comparisons that kinda distract from the main point.
      To sum it up:
      He wants "low-tier over-tuned mob" one-shots to be gone - just like everyone else. That's his biggest "complaint", yet he fails to convey this in a good way (because of his mad incoherent rambling, that people jump on instead).
      With one-shots being a thing; that's what can ruin your mapping experience because of the 1-death rule.
      (all of which seems to be balanced a bit more, with the upcoming changes they posted about some hours ago)

    • @yautjacetanu
      @yautjacetanu Місяць тому

      @@tagger_ I think one of the things that is annoying with this kind of drama is that a lot of the time when someone complains, they present solutions but they arnt game devs. So their solutions will likely suck but that doesn't invalidate what they are worried about. People on the other side assume that to listen to the complaint is to implement the specific solution. Like tri went on abiut how he really didn't want people to listen to everyone complaining about no phasing through mobs but then liked the way ggg solved it.
      Similarly here. All we know is that multiple people find the one shots unfun. This can be solved in so many ways. Making them less likely to happen, make them happen only by scary mobs, telegraph thigns better, make it easier to get straight back into a fight, make it so you can build for defense but then yoyr damage sucks and maps take longer, change the way damage multipliers stack. Allow for zooming out during boss fights so it's easier to see when you're attacked, remove on death effects as much.
      All these thigns may make someone feel less angry about being one shot.
      I love playing games where I can choose a 1 life run, like ori or souls likes but it's rare people enjoy that and even when they do it's usually not the first play through. My friends all hated monster hunter because of one shots until they discovered the importance of resists. Then suddenly the game was fun, it's fun when you can solve problems.
      But it does look like poe2 doesnt give you enough ways to solve things if you don't like them.
      I also think people like to think everyone likes hard games but actually even dark souls and elden ring have ways of playing that make the game easy with guides and grinding. Sekiro was truly punishing and not as popular. Even that, most bosses could be cheesed some way.

  • @kobarsos82

    To be entirely fair, diablo 2 had one mechanic better thought out. Monsters "dont need" to respawn on each death. Its just stupid. Imagine killing an enemy, they drop a mirror, or something else insane, then you die, gg respawn, kicked from the map too. All loot lost. Ragequit, lost a player. Why? no need. And the maps are not small, they are quite large. They could go with having a number of portals for that map, so a finite amount of deaths possible. It would be fine imo, and avoid any frustrations. Would ultimately make it feel more fun as well, even for the more average players. I think this point is valid, regardless of the fact that some of us don't have any of these issues, cause we simply trade and get better gear to improve our build to run these maps in a much smoother way.
    Asmon has said it right, you can keep the game difficult without making it unnecessary punishing. Kripp's points were great as well.
    Thankfully it will improve, its still EA.

If you find endgame to be harder than the early campaign, you are just not building your character properly, simple as that. Sure the first boss was kinda hard, since we had no passives, no gear, nothing. But man, stacking str on my gemling with a couple of uniques is enough to obliterate everything up to the hardest tier of maps in the game. People just don't even try to understand this game.

    I would love if they make a season with boss rush mode where you can push Infinite like delve. This would be awesome.

    Idk why everyone is shitting on this guy. I’m not aware of his other opinions on other games but he is spot on about the 1 death thing and losing your map. If this is not changed the game will suffer.

    He said it's not rewarding enough for the amount of punishment you are getting, not that the game is bad because it's too hard. At least that's my understanding of his video - I personally agree with some points he makes but I know this will get exponentially better with time.

    while I'm not a fan of Tassi, Quin stating he only got one-shot once (and that it was a bug), so "clearly it's just a skill issue" is a stupid take. Quin has overleveled like crazy, has focused an insane amount of time on getting health and resists (which is fine, because hardcode, but then don't compare if you haven't gone through the same experience?) and has not done anything challenging until he's leveled enough to where it's not that challenging. If you constantly have to be 5-15 levels above enemies for example, that seems.. broken. Also him bitching constantly during stream about almost getting one shot and telling "GGG to fix their game" is pure hypocrisy. plus, I honestly don't think Tassi took Kryps video that far out of context.
    Plus, it's clear GGG also disagrees, given their latest patch announcement.

    Aha, so I hid from youtube etc for a while playing my poe2 campaign and having fun, then yesterday when I got to endgame I saw theyd removed the death penalty of mapping. I was sad to see it go, guess I have the likes of this guy to thank for it.

    The map bosses aren't trial and error, they are the same bosses you learned and killed in the campaign. Dying on maps is a skill issue, Quinn is right.

    He's clearly an idiot but even an idiot can be right accidentally and I kind of agree on the waystone thing.
    I just started mapping and I'm dropping less than one waystone per completed map, even T1s.

      @gu244 don't get me wrong, I do like the choice to have death =you're done with that map.
      I just liked building those degenerate builds in poe1 where you will win AND die trying.

Amsongold is the whole circus. His clown takes are even more funnier considering he cried and quit any fomsoft game atleast once

    I have this feeling like tassi has 0-50 total life on his gear and is only equipping the highest evasion gear only
    Also he is talking about things like every thing is final. Unlike another PoE-like game, ggg has actually shaken up the end game completely before. Like the war of the atlas
