Hi dear , I would like to say a very big thank you, for sharing this with us worldwide , as l am french, I never found a channel, who would explain so clearly the way to process the proget , with your précise explenation, I have done one very Beautifully ,so for this thank again ,merci beaucoup pour votre partage.❤❤ ❤, love from 🇫🇷.
Hi! I am teaching myself how to knit and your video on how to start the Sophie was SO HELPFUL! I was amazed at how difficult it was for me to find knitting tutorials that made sense to me, and yours was one of the few that just clicked. Thank you!!!!!!
Thank you so much for the guide. I just finished mine and I figured out that when I move the increase and decrease stich to the end of 8th row (right before 3 i-cord slips), the result is better as the increase/decrease mark is much less visible. In case you want to make another scarf, you can try it out.
Thank you so much for your lovely tutorials! I watched your tutorial prior to purchasing the pattern and your tutorial provided the confidence I needed to try this project and I feel quite successful thanks to your videos. Excellent job! Thank you!
Thank you immensely for your two wonderful tutorials on knitting a Sophie Scarf. My sister gifted me a knitted Sophie scarf she had made & said it was an easy knit! After watching both your tutorials, you have inspired me to knit one myself as I have not knitted an i cord before. Your videos are very clear & very well explained..Thank you so much🥰
Hi! I finished it today! I'm super happy with the result, i love my sphie scarf😍, i'm gonna make another one but better! Thank You so so much for this video! ❤
Hi there 😊. Im having shocking trouble knitting this scarf, I purchased it from Petite knit 🤦🏼♀️. I am a total beginner and taking this super slowly, yet one side of the binding cord has holes 🙁. I know I haven’t dropped a stitch. Thank you for your help and tutorial 😊.
I knit the first 3 stitches and then knit 2 together so it doesn’t make a hole. Also on the increase, when it calls for knit front and back, it was pulling the I-cord out of shape so I made knit 3 then make a backward thumb loop so it doesn’t have to borrow yarn from the existing stitch. Much neater look!
According to the patter, decrease from 33 stitches should be done K3, Sk every 8 rows. Then when you are left with 7 stitches you should change to K2, Sk and follow the pattern for the ending
As a beginner I really appreciate this video, thank you. Do you have any more beginner friendly ‘modern’ patterns to recommend please? I’m in the U.K. 👋🏻
I’m getting ready to start knitting the Cumulus Tee from Petite Knit as well since a few viewers asked about it. I’m happy to take suggestions as well.
@TheGingerNinjaJournals I so want to knit this but I am not sure I will be able to complete it. I defo could use some help. I just found you because I started the Sophie scarf today and was looking for some help. You nailed it.
Hi! Thank you very much for the tutorial. Please write it down, do I understand correctly? Do you multiply in every 7th row, and then when you have reached the maximum width, does the consumption follow every 7th row? How many meshes is the widest? Thank you very much for your answer!
Great video, was definitely a bit scared when I started my Sophie scarf. I’m a little bit confused about the difference this I-cord edge and most I-cord edge. I’m a beginner knitter and I’ve never done a different one but I’ve seen tutorial videos on how to do it typically and it is different???? I ended up dropping stitches on the I-cord and had no clue how to fix them but when I looked up how to fix them, the I-cord that the video was showing was different than this one.
Your videos are super helpful (for a beginner), thank you. Question, my skein had 3, yes 3 joining knots. PK purchased instructions indicates joining new yarn where there are 3 stitches left. Have you needed to do this & did it work? This is my 4th Sophie Scarf and first time attempting to join yarns. 😊
What is your recommendation to start decreasing stitches? Like when there’s 50 stitches then start decreasing or more just a rough idea. I’m going to try to make one the shorter one first and then go into a longer one. I just didn’t know when to start decreasing in.
I’m seeing now that there are some of us with different directions on our patterns. I am wondering if the pattern changed in between many of us printing them out??
@@TheGingerNinjaKnitsandJournals I was wondering if it makes any difference in the look. The increases read knit 2 then KFB in next stitch. The decrease is knit 3 then skp. On the last 7 rows the first row decrease is k 2 skp. Not sure it makes any difference.
I honestly don’t think it does at all. I poured over other peoples Sophie scarves in photos on Pinterest and Instagram and many of them looked exactly the same so it made me feel better about mine.
Hi. Thank you for the video. I have one question. Sorry if you’ve already mentioned and I didn’t catch up. Do we do increases and decreases of the whole scarf from one side (end)? What would happen if we keep on increasing and decreasing on both ends? Let’s say every 7-8 row make it the other end?
It will look a bit wonky. Definitely do your increase & decreases on one side. I’d recommend just using a progress keeper or some sort of stitch marker pen and clipping it specifically to the “right side” on which you’ll do all those stitches.
@@TheGingerNinjaKnitsandJournals thank you for the answer. Already knitted two only increasing/ decreasing on the right side. Works perfectly. One turned too wide (but it’s ok), the other one kept 22st at max in the middle, turned to be amazing.
@@paulinak404I just made an executive decision to decrease on the same side I increased I think I had to add a 9th row on one of them to just get to the right side.

Thank you very much for this other video. I would have done the decreasing by taking two stitches together. Thank you again from Canada.❤

Wow. Looks really interesting 🤔❤️
Thank so much for the finishing tips! My bind off looked terrible and I wasn't sure what I did wrong.

The pattern says to knit 3 then slip 1 knit 1 slip one…right?
I believe it’s knit 2, slip 1, knit one, psso. That’s what my pattern says.

How do you when to start decreasing? What’s the inches for a long and short Sophie scarf?
Thanks so much for sharing 💗
how long should it be the scarf?
Thank you ❤
I started decreasing for a while, now I have 23 stitches on and I think my scarf is too short . How can I fix it without going back to center row?
you now have a scarf for a little cat or dog 🥰
Thank you so much 🙏🏻 it was very useful ❤
