I don't understand when it's said without initiation it can cause damage. I came across the Gayatri Mantra by accident before I knew anything about Sanskrit language. I found the sounds drew me in everytime it popped up on my UA-cam channel and I found I was making the sounds without knowing a thing about the language or meaning. The more it drew me in is when I looked it up.
My life became a new life with this Mantra yet I wasn't initiated into it.

      Hello dear 'The Sanskrit Channel'
I feel there is some difference in pronunciation basically in 'Swaha' or 'Suvaha' in this word.
      Would you please clarify it?

I am a Buddhist (Hindu) because ALL Indians were Lord Buddha's followers about 2000 years ago.
All so called sanatan Dharma is of Buddhist origin.
Lord Buddha is a reincarnation Brahma Vishnu Maheshwara all merged.
We, the meagre Indians drifted towards superstition and blind beliefs.
Maha Mrutyunja Mantra is the proof of this. It says oh Lord liberate me from the life cycle full of Janma Mrityu Jara Vyaadhi.
Lord Buddha simplified the same as the ultimate enlightenment.
Buddhism is not a religion, but the way to follow for a happy life.

Sri Uday, thank you for this wonderful explanation. To my fellow viewers and commenters, thank you for sharing with us also. I am a citizen of the USA, and I often feel poisoned by the experience of living here - I turned away from the Christian Church long ago, seeing it as corrupted by greed and pride, spreading false messages. I renounced any and all feelings or thoughts of the Divine for over 20 years.
Then I received a very clear vision of what I interpret to be Garuda, then Ganesha... I tried to deny still but I kept getting these feelings... Especially for Lord Shiva, I started getting a strong feeling of reverence for शिव. I don't know how to connect with a guru and my mistrust of "priests" runs deep (I know this is probably not the best comparison but I don't know much about gurus). I have just learned that Krishna is known as jadguru, guru of all the gurus so I will appeal to him directly. I feel the same way about Gayatri: if my sibling gets between me and my mother, the natural reaction is to try to walk around and go to her.
I feel no ill will towards people who disagree. May we all have the courage to face punishment for wrong action and make the necessary changes in our lives.

I tell you, it really works!! Before drinking water, I always pray with Gayatri Mantra (Om Bhur, Bhuvah, Swa...), and my water literally responds to me with waves in it and I smile at my water and then drink it. I have been doing this for a year now without missing even once. Just by doing this, (according to people around me) I have become so sweet person. People around me love me for no reason. Actually, 70% of our body is Water. So always drink Mantrafied water, that will always put you in bliss.

I'm glad to have found this chaneel Prabhu. Thank you. I can vouch for the potency of the gayatri mantra as I used to attend bhajan session with a small group locally. The organiser was a Doctor. He would start the session by chanting this mantra. He soon fell from grace and had to rebuild his life from the wreckage. As much as I love hearing any Sanskrit mantra, I am very wary of this one.
Please keep up the good work.

Thanks for your detailed explanation of this mantra. I do have one concern: because of Sandhi when you are presenting the individual words of the mantra in isolation (for explanation) their spelling and pronunciation may vary from when they are spoken in the mantra. Since non-Sanskrit speakers are probably not aware of this issue they may become confused about the correct pronunciations. I think it would be very helpful to briefly explain this issue.

@@njzupdates God does not belong to any specific religion. Every stupid religion is man-made. God is common to all living entities. I may be a Christian and you may be a Hindu; Jesus is not a God of any specific Religion at all; He is eternal and common to all. You may worship Him by a different name, Krishna or Allah. Who is God? The one who created the Universe, you and I is the God. There is only one Creator.
Give-up religious blindness; have 100% Faith in the Lord; call Him by any name you like or love. That's your choice. Unless someone is ignorant, then only he/she can be fooled. If I am determined, and if the Lord let me to fulfill my desire, I can convert you into a religion of my choice. Krishna never talked of any Religion in Bhagawad Gita. Righteousness is the essence He taught to Arjuna; first, you read and understand Bhagawad Gita; then you read Bible; then you will realize Krishna/Jehovah/Allah are just One, the Almighty. Let's not fight on religious madness. If a religion cannot unite all, there is no necessity for such religion.
Love your neighbor as yourself. Don't you accept this fact? Don't you respect the One who preached this to everyone without exception?
Lord Krishna says, "If you think of Me at the time of your death, you will reach Me". Allah and Jehovah says the same; that the first commandment!
May Lord Jesus forgive those who have become religious fanatics! Hare Krishna/Allah/Jehovah.

Thank you for this beautiful explanation, I being meditating and chanting mantras because I found them as a big help in my spiritual life, how or where a guru can initial me to use this mantra properly, I’m being doing it by my own and is the first time I heard the importance to be initiated, thank you 💕
